March GlossyBox 2014 - What's Inside Mine

It's that time again, the March Glossybox has been delivered, so what was inside mine...

This month's theme - 'Beauty Blossom' is a season change inspired box - marking the transition from Winter to Spring.

I have to say this month I was underwhelmed upon opening the ribbon and taking a quick peek inside, however a day later I had already used two of the products!

Mitchell and Peach Body Cream in English Growers 40ml (Full size 180ml £36)

Take a walk in the English countryside with this body cream that contains English honey, organic cocoa, vitamin B and shea butter.

My thoughts

The smell of this body cream is a bit too herby/floral/lavender for me so I will be passing this on. It  has a lovely texture and is non sticky. I am also impressed that this is paraben free and with no synthetic colours.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powders in Sensation 2.3g £12.99 (Full Size)

My thoughts

This is a highly intense shimmering eye shadow in white/silver, it would make a fab highlighter actually and Bellapierre say that the powder can be mixed to other makeup products to make custom makeup.

Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish SPF15 in Bare Minimum £4.49 (Full Size)

Tinted Balm SPF15 with almond oil, shea butter and vitamin E.

My thoughts

Predictably being the nude makeup fiend that I am this Pout Polish has already made its way into my handbag and been used. Bare Minimum is a gorgeous barely there nude shade that makes lips look very pretty and glossy without any sticky weight. Scent wise it smells like vanilla.

Helenere Maitrise du Temps 10ml £38.50 (Full Size)

An intensive serum that moisturises deeply while preventing skin ageing and adds skin elasricity to give a brighter complexion.

My thoughts

This Swiss brand is new to me but I am looking forward to trying out this serum and will keep you posted on my thoughts after use.

Dove Hair Therapy Intensive Repair 60 Second Treatment Shot 5ml £1.49 (Full Size)

A 60 second pick-me-up for hair promising soft, strong hair with a keratin boost.

My thoughts

I have already used this 60 second treatment shot, I am a big fan of Dove hair care products and even more so a fan of fast working products! This smells wonderful and leaves hair looking fabulous.

Final thoughts

Not terribly exciting on first glance but everything will get used one way or another! Value wise my box was worth an incredible £65! and contained 4 full size products.

Bright & Glowy - Make Up For Summer

The sun's out (at last) and this is one of my favourite looks for daytime. Coral blush awakens the face and is super flattering and bright coral lipstick intensifies and enhances the whites of the eyes. I wear it with a light brightening base ( GINVERA BB Cream is excellent - coverage vs lightness is the best I have tried) and add a cream based highlighter for extra glow. Pair with a bronzer and lashings of jet black mascara and you are set for Summer.

Swatches

L-R

Pur Minerals Beach Bum Gloss Stick - Super glossy hint of colour that works with your own lip colour, bright coral but wearable. I wear this in the mornings for the school run as it is less punchy than a full on lipstick.

Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Coral Reef - This fluoro bright lipstick with a sheen finish is packed with colour, one swipe and you get gorgeously creamy rich, even coverage. Coral Reef is not a colour you would wear if you want to hide away, it is so bright and punchy, instantly awakening the face. I love it. Shades optional.

Liz Earle Healthy Glow Powder Blush in Nectar - Words cannot express how much I love this blusher, unfortunately I dropped it the day I received it so the packaging broke but it's what's inside that really counts.  Nectar is described as a rose pink but I think there is definitely a hint of orange in it. I finger swatched it so you can see just how bright and stunning this is. So complementary to my skin tone, Nectar brightens my cheeks effortlessly with a pop of colour and provides a healthy glow. The formula is sheer but buildable so it looks really natural on the skin and not powdery in the slightest. If you haven't tried the Liz Earle blushes I can highly recommend them.

Benefit Watt's Up Soft Focus Highlighter -  One of my all time faves, this is a champagne toned highlighter that is in stick formula, just glide across the top of the cheekbones and blend. Simple but effective natural looking radiance.

Eyes Of The Day - Purple Smokey and Smouldering

Products Used -

Sleek Oh So Special Palette - Shades Wrapped Up and Celebrate
Eyeko Purple Graffiti Eyeliner Pen
17 Photo Flawless Eye Pencil Black Blue

Purple shadow/liner against my green eyes is one of my favourite combinations - it is incredibly flattering. The purple enhances the whites of the eyes, makes the eyes pop and increases the depth of the green.

Sleek Makeup Oh So Special Palette

Sleek and I did not have a great start, I bought the Sleek Avoir La Peche Paraguaya palette as I was a bit of a fan of peach and orange shades, but I was disappointed with it. I couldn't get on with the textures of the shadows, they were too waxy and hard to blend so it has not been used much if at all since the first time.

At a recent Superdrug event I met up with a Sleek representative and told her about the palette I had bought and she gave me the Oh So Special palette to see if she could change my mind about Sleek's palettes.

The first thing to note is the range of shades, they really appeal to me and I would use all of them. This is quite rare in a palette, there always tends to be one or two that I wouldn't touch, I usually prefer buying single eye shadows because of this.

Contained in nice, slim packaging with a mirror and applicators

Swatches of Oh So Special

The shimmery ones glide on and are easy to blend and the matt ones are creamy but not waxy, perfect!

This is actually a great mix of creamy lights to browns, some plums and a bluey/grey and of course the pigment rich Noir. This palette will easily take you from day to night

I have been having a little play with these today and instantly love Glitz - a deep shiny blue.Gift Basket, Organza, Gateaux are just gorgeous. Bow makes a perfect base shade. I will be doing some eye of the day posts with this palette for sure.

The Oh So Special palette is limited edition so if you want to buy it better do it soon...

Sleek Makeup Oh So Special Palette costs £6.49

My 'Mini' Current Obsession....

I have a teensy weeny makeup obsession this Spring/Summer. I am finding that when I am out shopping I am being increasingly drawn to all shades peachy, orange and coral and happily for me there is quite a selection for me to choose from as this is one of the Spring makeup trends ...  Funnily enough, as a clothing colour I really detest orange, I see this as a compromise :-)

In my collection -

The find of the century - I absolutely love the NYC Color Wheel in Peach Glow. I am wearing it in both of my FOTDs linked to below. This is an absolutely super blusher for the princely sum of £4.09! I actually have to credit my sister with this find as she purchased the Pink Glow and I was so impressed with it that it prompted me to buy the peach.

Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess Sand and Sea EyeShadow (from a couple of years ago) I use the shade Ginger Drop (furthest right on the palette) when I wear these colours. It is a lovely shimmery colour.

Lancôme Juicy Tube in Mangue - Looks a scary bright orange in the tube, looks fab on the lips. Will post picture soon of me wearing it.

Revlon Super Lustrous Matte Smoked Peach Lipstick - As seen on my lips in this FOTD.

My newest purchases -

Sleek Makeup from the Avoir la Pêche Collection - i-Divine Paraguaya Palette - 12 fabulous colours for me to play with, I cannot wait to try some eye looks out with this palette! I have been itching to get hold of it for some time now but all the Superdrugs I had tried previously didn't stock Sleek.

Sleek Makeup Pout Polish in Sugar May - I have used this already in this FOTD but I will no doubt be using this in future posts too, it smells amazing (Vanilla). Goes on beautifully and is non drying on the lips.

On my list to buy (sadly it wasn't in stock when I bought the above) Sleek Makeup Pan Tao Blusher

I am still on the hunt for other fab products in these hues so please leave me a comment with your suggestions.  I am particularly interested in a peach/orange gloss with shimmer.

What is your current makeup obsession ?
