Readers of BeautySwot know that I am a lover of all things rose. I know a lot of people say 'oh I don't like rose' but I think that could be because they just imagine those horrid rose scents of cheap soaps that don't really resemble a true rose.. I call them old lady rose..and I agree it is horrid. So when I find a fabulous rose scented product, I have to shout about it.

I have been using the Aromatherapy Associates Renewing Rose Body Wash for a while now, I wanted to take a picture and write the review earlier but I noticed that the packaging has changed, it looks even more luxurious now so I have included a stock photo so you know what you will get.

My thoughts 

The Renewing Rose Body Wash is simply exquisite, bath times are more indulgent and luxurious with this beautiful and delicate scent of rose that has been blended with Sandalwood and Camomile. I was a little worried about using essential oils and suffering irritation but this body wash is gentle and leaves skin wonderfully soft and hydrated and the bathroom smelling gorgeous.

With no SLS or parabens this is a real bathtime gem.

Winter Cold Skin Saviours - Lanolips & Aromatherapy Associates

 For the past week I have been suffering from a cold and with it comes all the side effects... dry, cracked and splitting lips, sore nostrils from the constant streaming and sneezing, feeling snuffly and finding it hard to breathe. On top of that until today I had lost my sense of smell and only now it has still returned for things that have a STRONG scent. So as you can image on top of the sore throat and temperature I have not been feeling too well!

Well the lovely people at Lanolips and Aromatherapy Associates kindly sent me some products to try out..

I present to you a little winter cold survival kit that has been helping to ease my symptoms and make me feel a bit better :)

Top of my list is the humble pocket tissue, portable and a staple at home and in the handbag, I like the Luxury Soft Satin Tissues from Tesco - these are soft but strong and don't flake which super important.

Lemsip Cold & Flu sachets in Lemon - Lemsip really works but if you don't have any at home, a couple of paracetamols, honey and fresh lemon in hot water can help too..

Every time I opened my mouth (I talk a lot) or smiled my lip would split, Vaseline wasn't going to do the job (tried it)  so I turned to Lanolips 101 Ointment £11.22 in Boots. This has worked a treat, soothing and hydrating my dry, chapped lips and healing the recurring split so I am suffering no longer. I have also used it with success on my sore, red nose. This is also fab for popping out on the school run on cold mornings as it protects the lips and imparts a delicate sheen which I love.

Lanolips 101 Ointment is made from 100% Ultra Pure Grade Lanolin and Lanolin Oil. It is extremely rich and is best used warmed up. I rolled the tube between my hands to warm up the product and make it easier to squeeze out of the tube. It has no fragrance or colour (useful when I am applying to my nose!)

101 Ointment can also be used on dry, itching skin, cuticles and as it is baby friendly can be used on nursing nipples and more! The packaging is sweet and is perfect for carrying around.

I am finding the Aromatherapy Associates Support Breathe Essence £17 invaluable for easing congestion and stuffiness. It has really helped me to breathe and it smells so good! This essence contains Eucalyptus, tea-tree (anti-bacterial properties) and peppermint oils.

I find it soothing and calming, giving me such a sense of well being that I love sniffing a tissue with a few drops of it on it and inhaling ... gorgeous for anytime!

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath and Shower Oil

After a wonderful massage on Saturday I had been wanting to continue the theme of indulgence and relaxation and this arrived in my post box just in time - Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath and Shower Oil. This promises to help ease aches, sore joints and relieve stiffness and tension.

I like bath oils, I much prefer them to bubble baths. They feel really luxurious, soften the skin and wrap the bathroom in gorgeous scent, bringing a real treat to the senses. I just lie back and enjoy.

This one from Aromatherapy Associates has Lavender, Rosemary and Ginger as its key oils. Now, whilst I am not a fan of lavender, the way this has been blended means that it is not a strong lavender scent,  it is something really rather pleasant and actually I didn't want to get out of the bath! As my husband passed the bathroom he commented 'that smells nice' and that was with just one tiny capful in a full bath. I was impressed that the scent was nice and strong, Aromatherapy Associates say that this product contains therapeutic levels of the key oils. The ingredients are pure, containing just natural oils and nothing else.

The bottle is just gorgeous and passes my all important bathroom shelf test

The massage left my shoulder a bit tender so this seemed like the perfect time to see the oil's effectiveness and I can honestly say my shoulder felt so much better after using the oil, in fact my whole body just felt calm and rested. I even had a great night's sleep, Aromatherapy Associates products seem to do that to me.. the Relax Candle is one of my favourites for helping me to sleep.

This oil would be ideal if you do a lot of sport or if you are suffering from muscle strain or indeed for just any time your body feels heavy and stiff. 

Using the oil - It can be used either how I used it (a capful in the bath) or you can apply it to your body and shower it off.

Not recommended in pregnancy

Aromatherapy Associates Relax Candle

This candle from Aromatherapy claims to be relaxing so needless to say I  was curious to see if it was true to its description...

The relax candle is scented with spicy West Indian bay, Geranium and the precious oil Myrrh..an appealing blend at this time of the year.

This candle is simply beautiful, it looks attractive in a heavy frosted glass and packaged in a soft gold box. - first smell and I was hooked - so delicate with a hint of spice. Within 5 minutes of the candle being lit there was a beautiful, gentle aroma swirling around my living room. Soon I was transported to far away shores in a dreamy haze. This scented candle had the ability to relax and calm me down after the hectic day I had had and melt away any worries..

 I was so impressed, usually in the evenings my mind is working over time, going over the day I have had and what I need to do the next day, added to that anything else that has cropped up that might be praying on my mind.

The way I felt having had this lit for an hour was interesting when compared to the claims from Aromatherapy Associates - The beautiful aroma of spicy West Indian Bay warms and comforts while Geranium uplifts the room and helps to balance the emotions. The precious oil of Myrrh traditionally known to protect the spirit, completes the aroma, helping to cleanse the mind.

The piece de resistance? Once I blew out the candle and retired to bed I quite simply had the best night's sleep in a long, long time. Now I want this lit every night!

I think this is a beautiful gift for anyone in need of some relaxation. With the presence of Myrrh it is so apt for this time of the year.
