Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover Foundation Review

Oh I do love it when a new foundation is released and so was delighted when I was able to obtain a small sample to test it out... I picked up a sample of the new Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover Foundation in shade 020 (I was matched at the Dior Counter)

Dior say

EXTREME CAMOUFLAGE. FRESH SECOND-SKIN FINISH.

Full coverage
24-hour* wear
Second-skin matte finish

This fluid, 24-hour* full coverage foundation combines maximum complexion control with a natural matte finish for a result that is "Kiss-Proof. Touch-Proof. Life-Proof. All Night. All Day."

Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, describes his view of this neo-camouflage: “Incorporated in a very fluid texture, the high concentration of pigments ensures perfect blemish correction. What’s new for such a high-coverage product is how you don’t feel or see it. The finish is fresh, and matte enough that you
don’t need powder.”

* Instrumental test. N = 20 women.

Application tip by Peter Philips -

"This incredibly glide-on texture doesn’t set immediately and can be blended with the fingertips. Start by patting onto the areas that need correction, then smooth to blend in. If you’re looking for totally even coverage for the whole face, you can use a foundation brush. 24-hour wear means you never need to touch up."
My thoughts
I am wearing shade 020 Light Beige which is my perfect shade.  The foundation has a delicate and pleasant perfume scent. I applied the foundation with my fingers. The foundation consists of a light fluid texture but the finish is velvety and matte. However, as you can see from my photos below, matte does not equal dull. I didn't use and I don't use a primer under the foundation and you can see that it covers the pores, smoothing the appearance of the skin completely. It also covers blemishes and red bits/ I have slight rosacea but you wouldn't be able to see once I have applied this foundation. I think my skin looks pretty damn amazing and flawless. I cannot fault this foundation and it is right up there with my favourites.
After one hour of application and pretty much fresh on ...

After 7 hours of wear

I am extremely impressed with how well this foundation bears up to daily wear. After seven hours I think it still looks exceptionally good and keeps the rest of the makeup in place too. The only thing I would say is that the pores on my nose are slightly more visible but still pretty well concealed.

Obviously I cannot comment on the fact that it is supposed to last 24 hours but .... I would definitely purchase this foundation.

DiorSkin Forever Undercover has complete and flawless coverage, feels light on the skin and lasts.

Dior Diorskin Star Foundation Review

Dior Diorskin Star Foundation SPF30 is the newest foundation from Dior and as there was a sample in my RED magazine I was only too happy to give it a try!

Dior say

A new weightless perfecting liquid foundation with a high concentration of brightening pigments and ingredients. Diorskin Star maximises light, neutralises colour imbalances and delivers lasting flawless perfection.

Immediate and lasting studio glow.

My thoughts

I tried shade 020 Light Beige which is a tad too dark for me but I just warm up my neck with a touch of bronzer. The foundation has a lovely fresh scent, if a little perfumed but I don't mind it at all. The consistency is neither too runny or too thick and it applies and blends like a dream. It covers pretty much everything (it can be applied barely there or built up if necessary) to leave an absolutely flawless, soft focused and radiant finish that lasts for a good 8-9 hours. As an added bonus makeup seems to cling to it too to remain perfectly in place as well.

Light and Bright this is a winner of a foundation.

Ps it photographs beautifully - take a look below.

Christian Dior Rouge Dior 999 Lipstick

For years I have shied away from wearing red shades but recently I have been far more confident and giving brighter shades a go. Natalie Portman for Dior pretty much can sell me anything so I simply HAD to try the red lipstick in the above Dior advert..

This is Rouge Dior 999 - a beautiful and true red that actually I loved wearing during the day. I wasn't planning on trying on the lipstick so my corresponding makeup is not quite right for the lips, I would probably do it the way it is done in the advert, a far more subtle and sophisticated way to wear a red.

Perfume Sample Saturday - Dior J'adore Eau de Toilette

Dior J'adore EDT was launched in 2011 and is described as a delicate floral.

The delicate and luminous facets of the bouquet revealed by floral essences.

Italian Mandarin Essence
Damascus Rose Essence
Neroli Essence

Yellow Mandarin essence from Italy, Damask Rose essence and Neroli essence converge in precise harmony. Pride of place is reserved for orange blossom, the white flower that provides Neroli essence. This luminous flower is hand picked in sunny Tunisian orchards, adding a note of subtlety, sophistication and elegance to the fragrance.Woody with a hint of vanilla, the base note adds character to the scent of J'Adore Eau de Toilette.

My thoughts

A sweet and glamourous scent with a hint of fruit, this makes me feel feminine and undeniably sophisticated. I like this a lot. On me this is a gorgeous and elegant blend that fades evenly throughout the day. Light enough to wear by day I would equally wear this for an evening out.

A pretty scent, worth considering.

Dior J'adore EDT 50ml costs around £50

Perfume Sample Saturday - Miss Dior Eau De Parfum

Miss Dior Eau De Parfum

Created for an "elegant and spirited young woman in love".

Romantic by nature, Miss Dior inspires an intense and playful love, for which she is also searching. She personifies the spontaneous joie de vivre of today's young women, representing a particular type of freedom and seduction. The fragrance is characterised by an instant and captivating charm.

Miss Dior is a chypre that develops step by step. It glides from the sharp charm of a fresh, fruity, citrus prelude into blossoming floral notes, then on to the noble elegance of patchouli, before finally concluding with musk, the last trace of memory

With veritable riches concealed in her heart, Miss Dior develops in the most intense and astonishing way."

Miss Dior Eau de Parfum is a fruity floral chypre. A modern take on the Dior spirit with a dash of impertinence.

Top Note - Italian Mandarin Essence
Heart Note - Egyptian Jasmine Absolute
Base Note - Indonesian Patchouli Essence

My thoughts

Such a sweet bow bottle design containing a gorgeously refined and elegant scent. Feminine and chic. I love that the scent develops from the fresh burst of citrus to the sweeter, floral notes. This fragrance is pretty, delicate and infinitely wearable.

I remember the original Miss Dior scent finding it rather heavy and unappealing, so when I received this mini sample I have to admit to not even opening the box until now... Somehow the memo telling me that the fragrance had been updated failed to reach me. This is actually however a replacement for Miss Dior Cherie which I found too fruity, too sweet and girlie but the balance in this scent is just right.

I am looking forward now to trying Miss Dior Le Parfum which is described as being more intense, still with Mandarin but with more floral notes of Rose and the addition of Vanilla. Sounds interesting.

Sample Sachet Sunday - DiorSkin Forever Fluid Foundation - Review

Christian Dior DiorSkin Forever Fluid Foundation - Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup SPF25 - Shade Beige Clair 020 Light Beige

Dior say

A new generation of fusional wear, fluid foundation.

Its ultra-sensorial texture, bursting with made-to-measure perfecting skin care ingredients, melts into the skin for an absolutely perfect complexion that lasts all day long. The foundation blends seamlessly with the skin for a smoother, more even complexion day after day.

Suitable for all skin types
Medium Coverage
Satin Finish

My thoughts

I was rather pleased to find that this sample sachet's shade (020) was a pretty good match for me as I have been able to give this foundation a good trial. So far with just 1.5ml of product I have worn it 3 days and there is still more to use.

The foundation has a pleasant and fresh delicate peach scent and is of a runny consistency. As it is runny, I find it to be extremely light on the skin despite providing excellent coverage, It provides medium to full coverage, I did need to use a little more on areas that needed more coverage (my rosacea) but it did cover pores perfectly. Diorskin Forever blends easily and leaves pretty much soft, smooth, flawless looking skin with a gorgeous satin finish that is neither matte or overly dewy. It gives a nice fresh look to the skin and this lasts all day and remains even.

My only criticism is that after about 3 hours my nose started to get that tell tale shine to it but in a way I have come to expect that from pretty much all foundations as I have combination skin.

The staying power is fantastic, the finish ideal. One of the best foundations I have tried that is currently on the market.

I think this is a fantastic foundation, holy grail material, and I would be happy to pay £31 for it.

Christian Dior DiorSkin Nude Skin-Glowing Makeup - Foundation Review

Whilst out shopping at the weekend I was perusing the make up counters and my eyes were drawn to the Dior stand and the nude collection. It is just the kind of make up I like, nude, beige and brown tones in gorgeous lipsticks, glosses and nail polishes and of course the new DiorSkin Nude Foundation, advertised by a beautiful actress that I quite simply adore - Natalie Portman. If I looked like her I would be insanely happy!

The assistant offered to foundation match me and gave me a sample to take away and try. I was matched to shade Light Beige 020. This is actually the perfect match for me.

Claims

Emblematic of the range, this light, melting foundation has become a cult product. It provides a subtle velvet finish with just the right amount of correction, revealing the skin's texture and adding natural, shine-free radiance for a perfect natural glow. It is available in 9, radiance-enhancing, specialized shades that use translucence and half tones to adjust to every complexion, for an even more natural result in every light. Its formula is enriched with natural skin care ingredients for more beautiful and radiant skin, day after day.

My thoughts

Texture wise I find this fluid foundation to be extremely light and very thin. You have to work quickly blending it in as it dries fast, I found it felt weirdly dry in my fingers. However, it melts into the skin instantly so that it becomes virtually undetectable. My skin but better (this seems to be a common theme for the the newer foundations, less mask like more natural beauty).

This is a light to medium coverage makeup and I must admit to being a little worried when the counter assistant said the coverage was less than YSL La Teint Touche Eclat Foundation. Regular readers will know that I suffer from rosacea on my cheeks so I am looking for my foundation to cover this and give me a flawless finish.

I was very pleasantly surprised as it covers pores and redness and overall leaves me with a really nice, soft and natural velvet matte finish with no shine but brightness. I feel that this is a perfect foundation going into Autumn/Winter.

Nude has good lasting power, I wore it for 7+ hours and it remained fresh and flawless looking, the only downside was that my nose started to get shiny but this was solved with a quick brush of powder.

This is good for my normal/combination skin and since I have been using Rosehip oil at night I haven't suffered with dry patches on my cheeks so I am not able to say if it would cling to any dry patches that you may have.

Finally, I leave you with a picture of me wearing DiorSkin Nude - What do you think? Have you tried this foundation?
