Yardley London Jade EDT & Blue Orchid Hand & Nail Cream
Last year I fell in love with Yardley London's fragrance launch - Polaire and this year they have done it again with their newest fragrance - Jade. Its name pays homage to Yardley's first fragrance of the the 60's - Sea Jade.
A smart and simply designed round bottle that is clean and mininal contains a perfect Spring/Summer garden scent.
Jade is a crisp, green floral chypre that is fresh and elegant which transcends any particular age group, appealing to all. It is quite strong but not overpowering and it has excellent staying power. Very nice indeed.
Top notes - Peach, Bergamot & Galbanum
Heart notes - Rose, Jasmine, Ylang-ylang & Orris
Base notes - Patchouli, Sandalwood & Moss
Yardley London Jade 50ml £19.99
I have also had a chance to try out the new floral Bath & Body Collection from Yardley London and first to be reviewed is the gorgeous Invigorating Blue Orchid Hand & Nail Cream
This new collection is affordable and features bright, modern packaging.
Blue Orchid is a rather deliciously sweet scent, a mix of juicy fruits - mango, orange and redcurrant, florals - of water lily, bluebell and vanilla orchid with a warm and woody base of cedarwood, mahogony and one of my all time faves.. tonka bean. It also contains Q10, vitamin E, shea butter and sweet almond oil.
It leaves skin silky soft and smooth and nails feeling conditioned. A gorgeous bargain.

Yardley Polaire Eau de Toilette 50ml - Review
Just over a week ago I attended a special launch evening for Yardley's first premium fragrance launch - Polaire. We learnt how to make cocktails in a special masterclass (including creating our very own in a competition!) but more importantly and excitingly for me, got to smell not only the fragrance but also the top , heart and base notes that make up the composition of the fragrance.
Polaire is named after a silent film actress of the early 20th century. The fragrance is inspired by the Art Deco era of the 1920's that is very much back in the spotlight thanks to films such as The Great Gatsby and the revival and evolution of the floral chypres that were first launched back in 1917. These fragrances were representative of the period which empowered women - a period of glamour, elegance, seduction, fun and economic prosperity.
In Polaire, Yardley has created a contemporary floral fragrance that takes you from for day to evening.
Top notes: Green, Pear and Freesia
Heart notes: Rose, Ginger and Pink Pepper
Base notes: Patchouli, Amber and Balsam
My thoughts
Alone the top notes and the heart notes are just so incredibly gorgeous and appealing, so if Yardley would like to make them into scents I would be first on the list to purchase!
The top notes are fresh and similar to the scent of Green Tea, the heart notes are sweet and floral with the tiniest hint of spice. Once combined with the base notes the scent is transformed.
Polaire is quite sharp when you first spray it but this settles down almost immediately into a sweet powdery floral which is light and long lasting, I just love it. I have been wearing it loads since receiving it. It smells far more expensive than the price tag suggests.
The bottle is simple and classy with its vintage style and faceted lid.
Sophisticated and sensuous, this is a modern interpretation of the classic floral chype and a great addition to the house of Yardley.
Yardley Polaire EDT 50ml costs £19.99

Yardley London Royal Diamond
This weekend there were flags and bunting aplenty and great celebrations to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in recognition of her 60 year reign. As a family we had great fun watching the Flotilla on the Thames, taking part in a Village Jubilee Party enjoying a hog roast, Pimm's, 99 flake and tuning into BBC1 to watch the Jubilee Concert.
My son wore red, white and blue clothing and Union Jack socks, while I painted my nails blue with a statement nail adorned with 'diamonds' in my own tribute to the Queen.
Royal Diamond is the newest launch from Yardley London created and inspired by this momentous occasion.. The scent is the company's first floral bouquet fragrance. Described as a sophisticated, sparkling fragrance opening with a touch of pear and bergamot surrounded by a subtle note of honey (top notes), with a delicate romantic floral bouquet at its heart of rose, peony and lily of the valley (heart notes), enhanced with base notes of soft wood and vanilla.
Royal Diamond is an appealing fresh Summer scent which with the influence of pear bears a passing similarity to Jo Malone's English Pear and Freesia, which also has a woody base... As that is one of my favourite scents this was also bound to appeal.
An excellent scent befitting of the Diamond Jubilee, Royal Diamond by Yardley London costs £9.99 for 50ml (Eau De Toilette)

Yardley London Bath & Body Skincare Collection And Flower Arranging With Jane Packer
I recently spent a most wonderful afternoon with the Yardley London team at the Jane Packer Flower School for a lesson in flower arranging. It was such fun and one of the most therapeutic things I have ever done, I highly recommend it!
We learnt how to create a hat box arrangement from scratch. Having been shown by an expert who made it look so easy, we were then let loose on our own hat boxes and vases of flowers. It was left up to us how we arranged the flowers we were given to work with - We had pink Roses, white Gerbera Daisies, dried Lavender and green foliage. These are some of the flowers used in the Yardley Bath and Body Skincare Collection.
I have to admit when I started arranging the flowers in the hat box I had no vision of how it was going to look at the end, it has to be said I am not the most able when it comes to making things but I was pleasantly surprised at the end result, what I achieved and how much I enjoyed learning and being creative for the afternoon.
The lesson in flower arranging was to introduce the new Yardley London Bath and Body Skincare Collection which will be supported by a stunning advertising campaign this Spring.
The collection consists of five ranges - English Lavender, Lily of the Valley, English Rose, Peony and Royal English Daisy. Each range has a Body Wash - £3.50 for 200ml, a Body Lotion - £5.99 for 250ml and a Hand & Nail Cream.
Each product is infused with the delicate scent of the floral fragrance it represents and contains the ingredient Q10 which is known to strengthen skin and keep it soft and toned.
I have been using the English Rose collection and the scent is not at all overpowering, the hand cream is light but perfectly moisturising. I was also given the Royal English Daisy hand cream which is a stronger sweet floral scent, apparently this scent was inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton and launched around the time of the Royal Wedding.
