What's Inside My June GlossyBox 2013

June's GlossyBox is themed as creating your perfect Summer Look.

So what did I get inside mine...

A nice mix of makeup, skincare and haircare. I like the variety in the box.

MONU Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 (30ml) Full size 50ml £29.95

This smells lovely and fresh and it is suitable for all skin types. I am tempted to use this now but wondering if actually I should keep it for taking away as it is the perfect travel size... decision, decisions.
A Zinc Oxide SPF provides both UVA and UVB protection and it also contains Vitamin E.

Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm (Full Size) £5

I am a huge fan of Figs & Rouge lip balms and so this is a welcome addition. Comes in a handy tube, is 100% natural and is tinted. Coco Rose is lightly tinted pink with a slight shimmer and a delicate rose scent. Very pretty and moisturising.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Serum (25ml) Full size 50ml £6.29

It has been a long time since I have used this serum (a staple for many years) and to be honest right now I have so many hair serums that it may take a long time to get round to using it. Liking the glossytip of applying it in the shower when hair is soaking wet. Not tried that before!

MeMeME Cosmetics Eye Inspire Mono Eye Shadow (Full Size) £4.99

A baked eyeshadow that can be used wet or dry. I received shade Mocha - as this is a Summer box it would have been nice to receive a brighter or lighter shade. Although I have tried this brand I haven't tried their eyeshadow so I would be happy to use this as part of a smokey eye look.

Helen E Cosmetics Waterproof Protective Lip Liner (Full Size) £8

I received shade 4 which is a gorgeous deep pink shade, I would be happy to wear this alone with a bit of gloss or under my lipstick to make it last longer. It applies really soft.

Final thoughts

I will probably be using all of the products in this box although some I can see lasting longer than others due to the nature of the product and my level of excitement towards it! Value wise there are 3 full size products and those alone come to £18  so a great box this month.

Glossybox costs £10 a month plus p&p

What's Inside My January 2013 GlossyBox

My GlossyBox was delivered sometime yesterday but as I was out all day I have just opened the box and as January is the traditional month for Detox, yes you guessed it the theme is DETOX.

Billed as the Detox box, it is designed to provide you with all the necessary tools to hide the excesses of the holiday season and the Sleepless New Year's night. The Detox box will help you look and feel your best for a successful start into the New Year.

The Contents

First up a rather sweet GlossyBox sleep mask, this is a bonus product but I have many a need for this!

BM Beauty - Dewy Perfection Finishing Powder 1g (4g is £8)

Claims - A translucent powder with a 100% natural mineral formula. Use on its own to create a dewy finish, under foundation to diminsh fine lines and blemishes, over foundation for an airbrushed finished that keeps your base in place all day. Can also be used as a highlighter on cheeks and brow bones.

I have been using Clinique's Gentle Light Powder Glow (sadly discontinued) lots recently as I love the  flawless finish and staying power it gives me, this sounds very similar so I am looking forward to seeing how this compares.

Eco-BOUTIQUE - Body Lotion With Aloe Leaf and Green Tea 30ml (50ml as part of gift set £8.50)

Description - The delicate scent of mimosa and extracts of organic green tea and aloe leaf create a soothing body lotion to give smooth, hydrated skin.

This smells really nice. The scent is similar to cucumber, very fresh. I like the fact that it is paraben free. I will be using this sample.

MONU - Micro Exfoliant 30ml (100ml is £14.50)

Claims - This poweful dual-action microdermabrasion delivers instant radiant skin, refining the skin's texture, reducing the appearance of pores and fine lines. This instant pick-me-up with papaya enzymes and Shea butter provides an immediate healthy 'new skin' effect. Use 2-3 times a week if you have oily or congested skin. Once a week for acneic, dry or mature skin.

After the huge success of Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant that was in a previous box and which I now love, I am very much looking forward to trying this out and once again making a comparison..

Great tip on the bottle - If exfoliating regularly, use sunscreen to help protect your skin.

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes 3.5ml (15ml is £57)

Claims - Immediate hydration that firms and awakens the delicate eye area.

Quite like the idea of firming and awakening my eye area, will let you know how I find this product!

SANCTUARY SPA - Active Reverse Facial - 30 Day Thermal Transformation (2 sachets, Peptide Transformation Serum 3.5ml and Thermal Rose Clay Mask 7ml) Full Size £27.50

Claims - Reveal smoother, glowing, more youthful skin with our 30 day Thermal Transformation Mask.

Now this is a disappointment..I love the idea of the claims and the product but sadly you don't get a 30 day supply :-( The sachet is just one use but it does promise that you can see instant results of skin looking brighter & tauter, noticeably reducing 'crepey' skin after the first use.

I am going to give this a whirl on Friday, watch out for the Sachet Review on Sunday to find out what I think of it.

My thoughts

No full size product, no make up, no perfume at first glance I was a little underwhelmed...however when I actually took a proper look at the contents and read what they were for, I realised that actually in terms of samples and mix of products this was an excellent box (just a shame that there was not one full size product though!). It is not all that often that I will keep and actually try all of the products but on this occasion, I most definitely will.

What do you think? Was this a good box? What did you receive in your box?

What's Inside My November 2012 GlossyBox

The theme of November's GlossyBox is 'Stocking Fillers' and its aim is to serve as an inspirational gift guide.

When the delivery man knocked on my door with the familiar box I had no idea what to expect inside. I think this month's box is another winner. Out of the 5 samples inside I will definitely be using 3 of them completely.

The contents

ALISON CLAIRE NATURAL BEAUTY Mango Body Butter 50ml (£15 for 200ml)

This is a new brand. A wonderfully sweet mango scented thick (but spreadable!) body butter that has so far left my skin feeling lovely and smooth. Look forward to using this.

MONU Firming Moisturiser 20ml (18.50 for 50ml)

This is a Marine Collagen enriched cream that is for dry/sensitive skin so I will probably pass this on to my sister as I have normal/combination skin. I have used heavier creams before not designed for my skin type and they just leave it looking and feeling greasy.

NAILS INC Notting Hill Gate Nail Polish 4ml (£11 for 10ml)

A cute sized bottle, Notting Hill Gate is a bright, almost neon pink shade that is probably better suited for Summer. Personally I would have much preferred to have had Porchester Square (a mushroom colour) in my box as it is the shade I would most likely wear more often and more suited to this time of the year.

CRABTREE & EVELYN Himalayan Blue Hand Therapy 25g (£5)

I love hand creams, one of my all time favourites is the rose one from C&E and this is going straight into my handbag. It is the perfect size to carry around, smells absolutely wonderful and fresh. Described as - An enigmatic blend of smoked black tea, warm ginger and spices, and golden champaca, touched with a mysterious accord of patchouli, leather notes, and exotic woods. Very nice indeed.

DERMALOGICA Daily Microfoliant 13g (£38.50 for 75g)

I actually have sachets of this facial exfoliator that I haven't got round to trying but I far prefer this sample pot to use, it is a bit like a salt shaker! A decent quantity for daily use to judge whether I like it or not. I will be started this tomorrow, look out for a full product review shortly...

Final thoughts

Generous sized samples and a decent variation of product type mean that I give this month's box a thumbs up.

What's Inside The April 2012 GlossyBox - The Natural Box

With April being Earth month, GlossyBox has created 'The Natural Box' featuring brands that believe in and only use natural ingredients in their products. The box the products were sent in was also 100% biodegradable. Now I was really impressed with the Harrods box but The Natural Box in my opinion surpasses every box since the GlossyBox launch, quite frankly it is the best yet. My box represents incredible value and contains products to use and treat from head to toe,  there is not one item that I wouldn't use and I am genuinely excited to try them all.

My 'Natural Box' contains 3 full size products (they alone are worth over £30!) and the other samples are of a generous size which will allow you to get a feel for the product and gauge whether it actually works for you prior to purchasing the full size version. The box this month really does fulfill the brief it set out with.

I will be doing proper reviews of all products in due course once I have tried them properly but before then thought it was worth showing you what I received in the April GlossyBox.

Products received

Inika Cosmetics - Certified Organic Eyeliner in 05 Black Caviar - Full size worth £11.75.

I am looking forward to putting this natural eyeliner through its paces to see how it compares to my usual black eyeliner.

Burt's Bees - Naturally Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion - A rather generous sample size of 70g.

99% natural and promising up to 24 hour moisturisation this product is for normal to dry skin so ideal for me.

Caudalie - Vinosource SOS Thirst -Quenching Serum - 10ml sample.

I don't actually have too much luck with serums, they either break me out or I just do not feel that they demonstrate much change to my skin so I am curious to try this one from Caudalie, a French brand whose Cleansing Water is legendary.

Figs & Rouge - Lip Balm in Cherry & Vanilla - Full Size worth £3.29 8ml.

I already own Rambling Rose Lip Balm from Figs & Rouge, which is divine and I love the designs on the tins. Cherry & Vanilla, smells delicious, I liken it to Cherry Coke..  100% pure, natural and organic.

Monu Professional Skincare - Moisture Rich Collagen Cream - Full Size worth £17.50 for 50ml.

It may take me a little while to get round to trying this product out as I have literally just bought a new facial moisturiser. This promises to relieve dryness and smooth fine lines and contains ingredients such as rose and geranium essential oils.

All products are SLS and paraben free.

Next month it is GlossyBox's first birthday.. cannot wait to see what they are going to do for it.
