Small enough to pack into your toiletries bag these samples are generously sized for a few uses.

Contents

Wild Rose Cream 24-hour  Moisturising & Brightening, SPF6 16ml

I absolutely love this facial moisturiser. It smells a little bit like Dentyne Gum for those that remember it.. (cinnamon, but is blended with the delicate rose) and it does a SUPERB job of leaving skin moisturised and wonderfully bright. Honestly just after one application those who know me knew I had used something different on my skin and said I looked really well! Very tempted now by the full size version.

A great product for the morning after the night before!

White Tea Fluid Gel Cleanser 16ml

The cleanser doesn't really have a scent as such but is a decent cleanser and it doesn't leave skin feeling tight or dry, just soft and clean.

Aloe & Dittany Shampoo 40ml

This shampoo smells lovely and did a good job of washing my hair.

Guava Shower Gel 40ml

A gorgeous and fresh scented shower gel that wakes up the senses, leaving skin soft.

Basil Lemon Body Milk 40ml

Completing the lineup is this fabulous body milk. It has a wonderful citrus scent that is spiked with basil so it's not overly sweet or citrusy. It is non greasy and dries in seconds leaving skin smelling delightful and skin super smooth and soft.

KORRES PARTY SURVIVAL KIT RRP: £19.00,  available to buy online from www.Debenhams.com

Happy New Year 2013!

Happy New Year!

By now 2013 is in full swing and with it all our hopes and dreams for the year ahead have been ignited. I trust that you all had a fabulous New Year's Eve.

I spent the night at home with my husband where we enjoyed a wonderful meal of Lamb Shanks with a Blackcurrant and Red Wine Jus and root vegetables, with a small serving of rice. Dessert was a delicious, smooth and creamy Caramel Panna Cotta. At midnight we toasted the New Year in with a glass of Champagne and watched the fireworks.

Last year I said that the London Fireworks were the best ever and this year I am proud to be saying the same. The display far surpassed last year's to give us the BEST EVER firework display that took in the Jubilee and the Olympics in music, sound and vision. It was truly a sight to behold. If you did miss it, you can watch it by clicking on the picture in this post.

Most of us will be making resolutions some will be kept, most will not. This year I will not be making a list of resolutions but instead my mantra will be 'Make Every Day Count' .

The best advice I can give you is to start a beauty regime of cleanse, tone and moisturise and NEVER go to bed with your make up on.

Happy New Year 2012!

2012 New Year Fireworks - Image from BBC footage

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!

First of all I just want to say how incredible the New Year London fireworks display was, best ever in my opinion.

I cannot believe that it is 2012 already, didn't 2011 go fast?

So as a New Year dawns it is time to make some New Year resolutions...

1. I aim to increase my fruit and vegetable intake - As I am allergic to many tree fruit I need to cook the fruits before I can consume them, not just pick them from the fruit bowl like most people can do. So I foresee a year of many baked/steamed/boiled fruit.

2. I am to get more active - find time for at least 30 minutes of some form of exercise every single day

3. My last resolution is to spend more time on my hair. Try out more products to find the products that bring health and shine to my hair and make it generally more manageable.I also plan to visit the hairdresser more often than I currently do.

Last year I said I would spend more time writing. In 2011 I introduced a Friday Column to BeautySwot which created an outlet to write about various subjects and also allowed me to write fiction in the form of short stories which I enjoyed writing immensely. This year the Friday Column will continue.

Thank you all for your support in the last year and I look forward to you all returning this year for more beauty, spa and afternoon tea related news, reviews and much much more.

Happy New Year!

I would like to wish all my reader's a very Happy New Year for 2011 and I hope that it is a good one for us all!

Taking a moment to reflect on what 2010 held for me (as I always do), I would say that 2010 was a mixed bag with some aims achieved and others left by the wayside. One of the best decisions was to return to my old love of writing, as from a young age I loved to read and write. I remember times when I would borrow a book from the library and have finished it by the time I arrived home. My love of writing has never diminished, just the time I have allocated to it.

So 2010 was the year that I put aside time to re-establish writing and return to beauty routines, and my life is all the better for both.

I also managed to fulfil a dream to visit Venice, which I absolutely loved and would love to return to again one day...

My hopes and dreams for 2011 are to visit more gorgeous places, enjoy more afternoon teas, discover new make-up brands, products and fabulous skincare - and just have a beautiful life.

More seriously, I wish to conquer my  fear of driving. A major setback was a car accident in November 2009 that literally has me sweating every time I am a passenger in a car, and has meant I haven't managed to drive my own car in 2010 :-(

I wish to thank each and every one of you for your support during the past 6 months, and I aim to bring you even more reviews, pictures and musings of all things beautiful in 2011. As ever, I love hearing from you so if you have any ideas for future posts, things that you would like me to cover or even just to say hi, please send an email to bettina@beautyswot.com.

Today I start with the one object that will help to keep me organised this year

My cute new diary :-)

I love the excitement of a fresh new diary and what the future holds, but I also love to save my past diaries to keep as a memory of the years gone by.

What has 2011 in store for you? What are your hopes, dreams and resolutions?
