MUA Nail Polish in Bright Pink - Nails Of The Day

I have to confess to having had this bottle of Bright Pink polish for a while now.. it has the sweetest story behind it. My son (aged 6) bought it for me last year when he was 5 at the Mums and Dads Stall at the School Christmas Fayre as a surprise present for me. Bless him, he clearly knows I love makeup!

I always thought a Barbie pink shade was not for me, until yesterday! The sun was shining, I had matching trainers and I just had to put it on. I was pleasantly surprised, it looks FABULOUS in the sunshine. Bright and fun.

Good choice my little boy :)

MUA Nail Polish costs just £1 and has since been repackaged into Essie style bottles. I needed two coats for opacity.

MUA Colour Blast Eye Shadow Tints - Review

Another beauty steal today. MUA Colour Blast Eye Shadow Tints. I wasn't expecting much from these eye shadow creams and in fact I was very pleasantly surprised.

Swatches

MUA say

Get a long-lasting tint of colour with this smooth cream eye shadow. The easy-glide formula can be blended or worn alone for cool, block colour eyes.

Encased in a handy chubby pencil the applicator rolls up for ease.

My thoughts

As I said above I was really impressed with the quality of the eye shadow tints vs the price. Creamy and smooth to apply, non messy with no fall out. What is not to love?

I was sent two shades -

Diamonds - which is a shimmery light pink - Although this swatched really nice, unfortunately it didn't show up on my skin tone at all in the same way. It came across a bit gritty looking and didn't even work as a highlighter.

Bring It Back  - I loved this, it applied so smoothly and evenly. The light brown shade really suited my colouring and made my green eyes really stand out. As an all over lid colour it is lovely and it is thin enough to apply it precisely as a liner on the lower lash line if you want too. What impressed me was the lasting power, this lasted all day on me without fading and I didn't use a primer. Fantastic.

MUA Colour Blast Eye Shadow Tints are available in 6 shades and cost £3

Face Of The Day Featuring Bourjois Blush in LILAS D'OR

I purchased LILAS D'OR blush from Bourjois quite a while ago but have only just got around to using it. My goodness I LOVE it! So pretty, so natural looking and the formula is super smooth meaning it does not leave a powdery finish.

A little bit of trivia from the Bourjois website -

Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush is our iconic and timeless product since 1863.
Bourjois Little Round Pot blush was the first ever dry powder making make-up accessible to all women everyday in the 19th century

I don't use the scratchy teeny tiny brush that comes with it (it also has a mirror in the tiny pot) but it is perfect for scratching the surface to release the product as I find that after a few uses my brush doesn't pick up the blusher.

Here I am wearing it

I find the shade LILAS D'OR ultra flattering, what do you think? What shades from the range are your favourite?

Bourjois Little Round Pots Blusher are available in 12 shades and cost £7.99 each.

I received some of the collection on Saturday and I couldn't help but smile. I love the Love Hearts packaging, Love Hearts appropriate names and wonderfully playful shades that will get you all set for Spring/Summer.

The lip balms are scented with yummy vanilla and provide a hint of colour
