Sure Maximum Protection Sport Strength

About a month before my holiday I decided to try a little work out routine that I found in a magazine, I donned my trainers, dusted off my exercise mat and popped on my for purpose gear and started following the routine. It may have been too little too late but at least I felt like I was doing something, something is surely better than nothing right?

Well I would love to bring you a post that features glamorous workout shots from the gym but frankly I am not at all glamorous working out, hair tied back, no makeup. I mean why would you wear makeup to work out?!

So instead I am going to bring you some photos of me working out/post workout whilst abroad in Ibiza instead, luckily for me the hotel had a small indoor air conditioned gym that I used. I also carried on doing my usual daily workout in the great outdoors, although there aren't any photos of this sadly :(

I was testing out Sure Maximum Protection Sport Strength Anti-perspirant and I thought what better way to test it out than in the Summer heat of Ibiza.

My thoughts -

Well this totally lives up to its claims, not a hint of wetness at all after a workout, the only water dripping was on my forehead! Plus I smelt good!

Completely and utterly impressed, this was a great holiday product. Whether I was lounging by the pool, working out or on one of our numerous day trips this kept me dry morning till night.

It is a little more expensive than your usual anti perspirant but well worth the money in my opinion.

Sure Women Crystal Invisible Black + White Diamond Anti-Perspirant Compressed Review

If ever there was a product made for me in mind it would be Sure Crystal Invisible Black + White Diamond...

I pretty much have a wardrobe packed with either black, white or monochrome clothing with the odd splash of colour for good measure.

My thoughts 

I was sent the compressed bottle which contains 125ml but lasts as long as a 250ml can. I love the fact that it is small so great for travel or just to take up less space on the dressing table. I found that the spray did not irritate me at all and true to its word I could get dressed immediately. I must admit so far I haven't worn much white to put the anti-yellow stains claim to the test which is unfortunate as this is one of my major Summer bugbears.

However I haven't had any horrid white marks on my clothing and the protection is fantastic at keeping sweat at bay. The scent is one that I would call just a spray scent and it would have been nice for it to be a bit more feminine, that said my husband would happily use this particular product as it doesn't smell 'girly'.

So far, so good!

Soft & Gentle Orange Blossom & Grapefruit Deodorant

I haven't used a spray deodorant in years thinking that the roll on/stick type deodorant are less irritating to the skin but I have been proved wrong in this thought having used Soft & Gentle's newest product - Orange Blossom & Grapefruit Anti-Perspirant Deodorant.

My thoughts 

Orange Blossom & Grapefruit is a wonderful scent, light and fresh. The spray is even and continuous and true to its word, no unsightly white marks are left on clotinh. I was sceptical of this spray being enough for my needs but it performed well and kept me feeling fresh and dry all day, every day when used.

And as its name implies, it is soft and gentle and doesn't irritate my skin at all.

Sure Maximum Protection For Moments That Matter

What a week I have had, full of highs and lows I can tell you!

The team from Sure Maximum Protection got in touch and asked me to document moments that matter to me and very kindly sent a sample of  Sure Maximum Protection and a box full of items to help me with those moments...

Whilst I didn't have any one particular 'special' occasion, I did have plenty of days where having maximum protection was essential, truth be told every day is a moment that matters to me, so I was relieved to have a deodorant that I could rely on. I normally use Dove Maximum Protection and I was a little nervous switching.

My week involved a press day up in London - although the weather was not as warm as it has been, the tube is still pretty hot and sweaty, I could feel my face sweating but my body was as cool as a cucumber and dry too, thank you Sure!

When I was up in London I took the opportunity to have a look around the streets behind Oxford St and Regent St. Heading past the London Palladium, finding my way to Liberty London and their wonderful floral displays and finally on to buzzing Carnaby Street. If you are in London, look up and marvel at the architecture and the intricacy of the the buildings - I found this amazing clock with the words 'No minute gone comes ever back again, take heed and see ye nothing do in vain' on an arch bridge by Liberty London. Wise words, pretty apt I think!

I attended the opening of the Daisy Marc Jacobs Tweet Shop Pop-Up Store which involved more tube travel, rushing to get there in time and standing under hot lights.

I met up with friends for a day out and we enjoyed some ice cool coffee drinks from Starbucks. Another day involved a play date with friends and our kids, I took the opportunity to have a go on the trampolines. It has been many years since I have done that :) Such fun.

No week is complete without spending some quality time with my adorable husband and inspired by the red lippie in the box I insisted we had a date night (not forgetting the tics tacs!, all fitted nicely in my black sequin bag. We also went to the cinema and caught a showing of the Summer comedy hit 'The Inbetweeners 2'. I didn't know that Cineworld now allocates your seats and so the whole front section was empty whilst we were all sat in the middle section, on top of each other. One man was obviously on a date as he had so much aftershave on, it enveloped my airspace...

Sadly my documented week hasn't had such a glamorous ending to it, life doesn't work like that does it?

The last few days have been spent caring for my 6yr old son who has been really quite poorly with a sickness bug. He has barely been able to keep water down and I have been stressed out worrying about him and not sleeping myself.  I will admit to getting really tearful and all emotional (I blame the lack of sleep!) so I dug out the Lavender and Lime Lily Flame candle that promised to float the day away and the bottle of Bach Rescue Rememdy and took the opportunity in a brief lull of the storm to calm and relax myself, before it all started up again (which it did).

I had no idea how good Bach Rescue Remedy was, it helped that night and I took it again the next morning, I was able to take on the day with renewed life and resilience in me. So good.

So there it is, whether it was for Work, Leisure or Pleasure -Sure Maximum Protection was a reliable deodorant and frankly in the Summer that is standard requirement, so full marks that it was as good as my usual deodorant and it had a clean, fresh scent that I really liked.

Dove Maximum Protection GoFresh Cucumber and Green Tea Review

I am a relatively recent convert to Dove deodorant's (see this post) and when the offer came in to try out Dove Maximum Protection I was interested to know whether it would perform and took up the challenge.

How to use

Recommended dose is two clicks. For optimal effect, apply to underarms before going to bed (the directions say that the protection lasts throughout the following day even after a shower! I will try this out). Can also be applied in the morning.

My thoughts 


Yesterday was one of the hottest days of the year, I was travelling to London by tube, dashing in and out doors and would be out most of the day. In short one of the best days to put Dove Maximum Protection to the test. As I was going to be meeting a lot of people I was a little apprehensive of trying something new...

As it happened the day was longer and hotter than I imagined. This was in part due to transport woes involving the tubes and buses and the added fact that the Olympic Torch was in the Borough of Enfield.

I found the cucumber and green tea scent to be very pleasant, light and fresh.

Does it work?

I can hand on heart say this is the best anti perspirant deodorant I have ever used. Despite the extreme heat and activity, I was completely dry all day and throughout the obscenely warm night and remained smelling wonderful. Yes it costs more than the average deodorant but its performance is far superior. Amazing.

Don't Sweat It - New Dove Natural Touch Deodorant Review

I recently discovered that Dove Invisible Dry Roll On was more effective than my usual choice of roll on, so have made the switch to Dove.

I was more than happy to try out the newest product in the Dove deodorant range - Dove Natural Touch.


Natural Touch promises to give 48 hr anti-perspirant protection combined with natural Dead Sea Mineral Extracts known for their moisturising properties. As with all Dove deodorants it also contains 1/4 moisturising cream. So effective and moisturising.

As it has been really warm this week I have been able to really test it out to give my opinion on it.


My thoughts

I really like this deodorant, It performs brilliantly. It IS very effective and keeps me smelling fresh all day. The scent is pleasant but quite strong, so if you don't like strong scents then this will probably not be for you. I had stuck with the same anti-perspirant for so many years but have full confidence in the Dove range.

I only ever use roll ons  but it is also available in aerosol format if you prefer.

Beat The Heat With Halo Deodorant Wipes

I was sent a few items from the HaloWipes range to review. These wipes were the ones I was most sceptical about..

Claims - The wipes contain a non-sting lotion providing effective deodorant protection while they cleanse and refresh.

I wasn't confident about using these at all but on Saturday I took them with me to use after a massage and swim to put them to the test. I used one wipe and then walked from Westminster Bridge to Covent Garden, it was hot and sunny, I walked up escalators instead of letting them take me up. Had dinner, had a wander around Covent Garden and then headed to Kings Cross.

Next morning I still felt fresh and there was no sign of any sweat...... I have to say I am so impressed by the effectiveness of these wipes, they are actually better than my usual choice of deodorant!

I think these are really handy to have in your handbag for emergencies and whilst I don't 'do' festivals I think these would be excellent!
