February's Edition of Glossybox is billed as the Beauty Soulmates edition - pairing you with beauty essentials and perfect product matches ... I have to say they have done a great job on my box!

The limited edition box design is super cute and apt for Valentine's Day/February also known as the month of love...

Nicka K 24H Waterproof Eyeliner - £3.99 

I absolutely love a decent rich brown eyeliner and this one doesn't disappoint. A flattering brown shade, once set it really doesn't budge. A nice precise tip,  a blender at the other end and a built in sharpener.

MUA Power Pout Glaze Low Voltage Gloss - £3.50 

My shade is HUSH which is a gorgeous sheer peachy nude which is just the kind of shade I adore. It smells lovely with a hint of vanilla. I will definitely be wearing this once the wind dies down!

NAOBAY Protective Hair Mask Volume Conditioner - £10.64 

I do like a good hair mask and I was particularly impressed with the Maria Nila Luminous Hair Masque that appeared in a previous Glossybox so I am looking forward to trying this one. It has a nice fresh citrus scent.

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Razor - £6.99

This box was sent at the perfect time, I was just about to pop out to buy some blades for my preferred razor but I am willing to give this a go. It has built in soap to help the razor glide against your skin.

Browtician Love Skull Tweezers Ltd Edit - £7.99 

I must admit I am a Tweezerman girl through and through and have been for many years... how is this going to compare!

Final thoughts 

February's Glossybox features 5 full size products which for just £10 + p&p makes it outstanding value.

I absolutely love all things rose gold so I adore this pretty box that is December's Glossybox - The Rose Gold Edition.

Etre Belle - Golden Skin Caviar Eye Roll On 

This arrived just in time, I have just finished my eye gel. This lovely roll on is really gentle on the eyes and does a great job of hydrating and brightening the eye area up. My tired eyes are immensely improved.

So Susan Statement Skin Highlighter Pencil 

I am all about dewy, glowing skin and one way to achieve this is by using a highlighter. I honestly don't know what I did before I started using them! You can see how lovely this one is from the swatch above. Radiance is so easy with this pencil crayon. Perfect for party season or in my case... all year round.

Cheeky Chat Me Up Nail Paint 

I received shade 'Sheer Delight' which is a pretty sheer nude pink. I don't think you can ever have enough nude shades in your collection and Cheeky polishes are pretty great so I was delighted to receive this colour.

Darphin 8 Flower Nectar Oil Cream 

This sample pot of cream turning into an oil texture is billed as an overnight wonder, imparting moisture and leaving skin feeling soft, smooth and supple. I haven't tried it yet but it smells absolutely heavenly.

Essence Liquid Lipstick in Show Off 

I have swatched the lipstick above, it is a full on bright shade and packs a punch with even coverage. I haven't tried anything from Essence so will be giving it a go very soon.

Bonus product

Starskin Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Mask 

I have never used a sheet mask so I am most curious to try this one from Starskin - There are four different versions addressing various needs. I was sent the Hydrating one, ready for my red carpet appearance. Well I won't be going near a Red Carpet anytime soon but I am saving this one for a special occasion when I could do with a real boost.

November Glossybox - What's Inside Mine - Lips & Lashes Edition

November's edition of Glossybox has the theme of Lipsticks to Lashes so as you would expect it contains items for both purposes...

What's inside ?

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick £7.99 

This month there is a full size lipstick from Revlon promising one of their best selling shades - As I already have the very popular red 'Fire & Ice' I was hoping for another shade to try, however I was sent the red. It is a gorgeous and full impact shade and I have worn it for Christmas Day in previous years as it is such a lovely festive red.

MUA Eyeshadow Palette £4 

This cute palette from MUA is called 'Undressed' and features 12 wearable shades of nudes and metallics. Perfect to adorn your eyes.

Eylure Natural Lashes £5 

These lashes do look luscious, voluminous and flutterworthy but personally I don't wear lashes so I shall be gifting these to my lucky sister.

Emite Diamond Heart Primer full size £25.90

I have got the 15ml travel size version of the primer. I love trying new primers so will be trying this shortly. It smells nice, has a peachy tone to it which promises to boost radiance and create a smooth finish. It also has a cream rather than silicone texture.

Royal Apothetic Body Lotion full size £14.50 

Once again this is a travel size version but it is a rather generous tube. I absolutely love the scent of this - Venetian Grove. Lactic acid will gently smooth skin and milk proteins will hydrate the skin. I am looking forward to applying this to my skin after bathing this winter... Gorgeous and light!

Final thoughts 

Although there are a couple of  items I won't be using, I think this month's box is really quite good. Makeup lovers will adore it and those who like to focus on skincare will appreciate it. I personally enjoy discovering new brands so this box gets a thumbs up from me.

GlossyBox July - The French Edition

July's GlossyBox has gone all French with its specially inspired French edition. This is a real discovery box and features and focuses on French skincare brands whilst promising to give you a healthy looking complexion. 

The box is an artistic delight, created and designed by Fashion artist Jamie Lee Reardin. It is just gorgeous and I will be putting it to good use, if only I could draw like that!

The contents 

Inside the box is a see-through travel pouch £3.99 (the correct size for hand luggage).

It has a really cute illustration on the front and personally I love see-through cosmetic bags as I do like to be able to see the contents! I will be taking this on hols with me.

The only full size product in this box is the Lollipops Lip Balm £4.15 

This smells so good, like marshmallows. It leaves lips feeling super soft and glossy. It contains antioxidants, vitamin E and protects lips from UV damage. Paraben free.

Noxidoxi - Enhancing Serum Base 25ml (full size £33.46)

Claims to provide complete hydration, tighten pores and to protect the skin with antioxidants.

This is a really generous sample size. To be worn under your moisturiser I am looking forward to trying this.

Teoxane Cosmeceuticals Perfect Skin Refiner 15ml (full size £70)

This is a night 'Skin Renewal' cream containing hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate skin. 10% Glycolic acid helps to resurface the skin and calming ingredients to reduce irritation. Should be used every other night as it is potent (I am warned of a slight tingling sensation...eek!) SPF during the day is a must!

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light Cream 15ml (full size £31)

I am a huge fan of Vichy products and this tiny pot is perfect for travel. This moisturiser promises to plump skin, smooth dehydration lines and promote a radiant complexion. It smells wonderful. This won't last very long...

Final thoughts

Well I have to say I am looking forward to looking like a new woman with incredible skin with the claims of these products, I shall let you know how I get on :)

Glossybox Iconic Hollywood Edition Review

Oh Glossybox how I adore thee this month.. well the box is just gorgeous isn't it? Mine has a lemon bottom and a white top with an image of Marilyn Monroe - A hollywood legend and icon. I am a huge fan of the lovely Marilyn so I was delighted to receive this box.

As you can see the theme for this month's box is the 'Iconic Hollywood Edition' and contains all you need to inject some Hollywood glamour to your skincare and makeup.

This promises to enhance firmness and boosting skin's luminosity for a red carpet glow, I will let you know how I get on...

A pampering session before a night out is a must and so included in this box is

Nougat London Soothing Bath Pearls in Cherry Blossom £6 

This has a delicate fragrance and will leave a subtle shimmer on the skin to create a limb lengthening sheen. Watch this space for a review.

Makeup

Color Club Nail Polish in shade Barely There - £4.10 

Nude nails are a perennial Hollywood favourite and I must say one of mine too.. a nails of the day wearing this nude shade will be popping up on my instagram shortly.

Red lips and a feline flick are forever synonymous with Hollywood Glamour and so they both feature in this special edition box... I will be attempting to recreate a Hollywood look very soon so keep your eyes peeled.

Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil in Kiss £10 

I am a big fan of Lord & Berry products so am looking forward to trying this pencil version of a red lipstick.

POP Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pen in Sooty Black £6.50 

I like the look of this eyeliner pen, it looks really easy to use and features a smudger at the other end for a smoky effect.

GlossyBox January 2015 - Inside Mine - Fresh Start Must Haves

As with all things January and a New Year the theme of this month's GlossyBox is of a fresh start. I think there is a nice mix of skincare and makeup and have no doubt I will be using all of the products included.

As ever the box is packaged beautifully making it a real pleasure to receive and open but of course it is the products that we are really interested in...

So What's Inside?

All five items are full size 

Kueshi Natural & Pleasant Cosmetics Revitalizing Face Toner 200ml €10.70 

This has come at just the right time as I am almost out of toner which I use twice a day every day. I haven't had a chance to use it yet and this is a new brand for me but it smells nice and fruity! The toner contains calendula, chamomile and aloe vera so I will keep you posted on how this goes.

Nicka K New YorK Colorluxe Powder Blush €8.95 

Loose powder without the mess? This is a great on the go product where the blush is dispensed from the powder puff applicator. The blush has no shimmer in it so gives a creamy appearance to the skin..it is a little bright ( deep pink) so light application will be plenty enough for a brightening pop of colour. I really like it.

MeMeMe Eye Line Pencil in Clay £4

I do love a good dark brown eyeliner and this one is creamy and soft to apply with good colour. I will let you know how I find it lasts but first impressions are good.

Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm Superfruits €5 

This fruit scented 100% natural lip balm smells lovely and feels really nourishing on the lips. It is packed with oils and leaves lips feeling soft and conditioned. Great for the cold spell we are currently experiencing.

Jelly Pong Pong All Over Glow £10

A good highlighting product is a daily staple for me so this gel/liquid highlighter was a welcome addition in the box. It is not too pale or too light for me so it provides a beautiful and radiant glow to my skin.

Final thoughts 

The box isn't overly exciting on first glance (I didn't squeal or anything upon opening) but take a closer look - the products are a decent mix of makeup and skincare and a good introduction to some new brands. The products are all useful and I think fulfill the theme of a Fresh Start.

October 2014 Glossybox - Andy Warhol Inspired Pop Art Collector's Edition Box

Ooh I absolutely love the print on this month's GlossyBox! The Andy Warhol Pop Art design is so apt for a beauty blogger and is bright and cheery for this dreary October ... I will have no problems recycling this after I have used the contents.

As ever though, the outer is very nice but do the contents live up to expectation...

They say - Get replenished and defined lips in an instant with this moisturising lip exfoliator. The gentle formula removes dead cells, refining the skin's surface for perfectly soft lips.

Out of all the products this is probably the one I am least enthused about getting use from as my lips are in pretty good condition, but you never know with the changing weather this could come in useful.

Yves Rocher France Quelques Notes D'Amour 5ml sample (Full Size £33 for 30ml)

They say - This scent encapsulates the feeling of falling in love through fusing notes of Damascus Rose , Guaiac Wood and Patchouli.

I like perfume samples and this is handy to pop into my weekend bag. This scent is lovely too, a bit like a delicious Turkish Delight.

So Susan Cosmetics Flutter Mascara £14.95 (Full Size)

They say - An intense carbon-black mascara formulated with hyaluronic spheres to help you achieve the darkest, curviest lashes possible.

I am always up for trying new mascaras and this sounds good, watch this space for my review!

Nuxe Creme Fraiche de Beaute Mask £19.50 (Full Size)

They say - A 24hr moisturising mask which hydrates and soothes the skin, instantly reducing discomfort or redness. Skin is left looking radiant and relaxed.

I am a big fan of Nuxe products so I am looking forward to trying out this mask which sounds ideal for the Winter months.

Ciate London Paint Pot £9 (Full Size)

I received Talent Scout a purple creme shade that be dressed up or down.

Bonus product - Rimmel London BB Cream Matte (sample size)

They say - This mulitasking 9 in 1 skin perfecting makeup cream with a natural formula contains kaolin, witch hazel and salicyclic acid for a flawless matte look.

I haven't tried this BB Cream so I will be interested to see how I get on with it, watch this space for the review..fingers crossed it is shade perfect!!

Final thoughts

This month's box represents outstanding value and with a great mix of products enclosed.

Inside The August Glossybox 2014 - Glossybox is 3!

It is hard to believe that globally Glossybox has turned 3, the concept of having beauty products delivered to your door monthly is hugely popular and it seems, certainly for now, that this enthusiasm shows no sign of abating.

I get very excited when my postman knocks with this monthly box and this month it was no different.. The outer carton this month was black and glossy with a pink bow as shown in the pics above. The actual box has had a little redesign and is not glossy and more box shaped. As ever the items were wrapped up with a bow, this time it was a smart black colour. Very pretty.

However, what is really important is the contents and this month, I personally was not disappointed. Every single item will be used.

A closer look at the contents

So the highlight for me is the Kryolan for Glossybox Highlighter in Cashmere FULL SIZE £12.95

Readers of BeautySwot.com will know I pretty much wear a highlighter every day so I cannot wait to wear this one. No glitter, just a beautiful natural shade cream highlighter for a velvety gleam.

Comfort Zone Essentials Cleansing Milk FULL SIZE 250ml £20

I have just finished my cleanser and although I have a few others to work through I don't have a cleansing milk so will be interested in giving this a go and discovering a new brand at the same time.

Figs & Rouge Mini Hand Cream 20ml (full size 80ml £6.95)

I can always do with a new hand cream and this one from Figs & Rouge is a fruity affair, now I am not a major fruit scent fan but this Mango and Mandarin one isn't bad at all, not overpowering and quite refreshing. The 20ml size is ideal to pop in my handbag.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer 40ml (full size 250ml £38)

I was pretty sure that this has already appeared in a previous Glossybox so I checked back to find that yes my memory was correct, this appeared in November 2011. OK it was ages ago but it seems I hadn't forgotten ;-) Philip Kingsley is also celebrating this year, 40 years of Elasticizer so the tie in is rather nice.

Anyway, my hair is in need of a good condition so this will be used up..just need to find a spare 20mins!

Lalique L'Amour EDP 2ml (full size 50ml £67)

Now I know that perfume samples of this size are not always appreciated but this is a really gorgeous scent and it does come with a hefty price tag...so in this case I think it was worth popping in the box. L'Amour is a truly sensational soft floral perfume with a hint of tea about it with the inclusion of Bergamot. It also features top notes of rosebuds, floral white heart notes and a musk base. Addictive.

Finally, a little birthday bonus

Yves Rocher Pink Nail Polish 3ml FULL SIZE £3.60

This dinky bottle contains a pretty creamy pink shade called Rose, it is very similar to a tea rose lipstick shade. I love it as a nudey easy to wear shade, you can see me wearing it in the top pic. I needed two coats to achieve opacity and smooth application. The brush is tiny but on my small nails it was ideal.

Final thoughts

This month my box was really rather good, excellent value with 3 full sized products and ALL the products will be used.

What's Inside My July 2014 Glossybox - Stars & Stripes Edition

July's Glossybox has landed and what a little corker it is!

First up, you cannot miss the striking Stars & Stripes packaging on the box ..so much fun. My son has already claimed this for his lego!!

The theme this month is American Beauty Heroes.. so what is inside my July Glossybox?

Ok first up my least favourite item in the box..

Color Club Nail Polish in shade Glossy Seal - Full Size $8

This is a specially created shade for Glossybox but I am just not a fan of blue polishes (unless they are a Tiffany blue) so this will be given to someone who is. Color Club polishes are made with non toxic, cruelty free ingredients.

ABSOLUTE New York Perfecting Eyeshadow Primer - Full Size $4.99

I am not familiar with this brand at all and I am looking forward to putting this eye primer to the test. It claims to be oil-free and ultra creamy. It will even tone around the eye area and keep eyeshadow crease free... watch this space!

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-1 Mascara (sample size) - Full size £19.50 

Apparently this is a US mascara hero product with its lengthening, curling, volumizing and conditioning properties. Well I love a good mascara as I don't wear false lashes or lash inserts or extensions so a review will follow soon. Fingers crossed it is as good as it sounds. As this is a mini product this is great to pop in your makeup bag for a weekend away.

Carmex Lip Balm - Full Size £2.49

Carmex Lip Balm has almost iconic status around the world and I haven't actually tried the original,  I hear it is tingling and I am not sure about that as I have quite sensitive lips. I may or may not be brave, if not this is going to my sister who loves it!

Bellapierre Cosmetics Limited Mineral Lipstick in shade Mandarina £20 

I have seen quite a few people moan about the inclusion of an orange lipstick in their box but I have to say I am absolutely delighted with it (the other shades were a pink or a red). I love a good orange lipstick in the Summer. Bright and fun.

Mandarina is a gorgeous true matte orange.

As soon as the box arrived I popped the lipstick on and got many compliments on the school run. This will be coming on holiday with me!

The only thing I would say is that your lips do need to be in tip top condition to wear it as it does cling to dry bits.

Glossybox June 2014 - What's Inside Mine

June's Glossybox has the theme of Summer ready. Glossybox are also guaranteeing 3 out of 5 full size products in the box with a minimum box value of £45.

So what was in mine ...

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes mascara £10.99 

This was a welcome inclusion. It is one of my favourite mascaras.. although in Summer because of hay fever I need a waterproof mascara.

Teez Beautiful Eyes Flat Stiff Brush €19 

This is a new brand for me but the product features a super pretty print brush handle and soft natural bristles. I haven't used this yet but I will.

Rituals Qi Gong Organic White Lotus & Yi Yi Ren 24h Anti-perspirant spray 50ml £3.50 

A travel size version of the full size version that is available to buy. This smells very fresh and light. I will use this for a weekend away.

Nail Girls 3 in 1 Base Coat/Top Coat and Nail Strengthener 10ml £13.50 

I rarely apply a top coat to my nail polish so I am looking forward to giving this a go and seeing if it adds super glossy shine to my polish.

So Susan Concealer Quad £17

Another new brand for me to discover. This small quad  contains 4 concealer shades to cover dark circles, blemishes and minor imperfections. I like the range of shades, it could carry me through all seasons.

Final thoughts 

Value wise this is a stonking box and I did essentially receive 4 full size products and a travel size one. In addition the products are all ones that I would use or at least give a go.

March GlossyBox 2014 - What's Inside Mine

It's that time again, the March Glossybox has been delivered, so what was inside mine...

This month's theme - 'Beauty Blossom' is a season change inspired box - marking the transition from Winter to Spring.

I have to say this month I was underwhelmed upon opening the ribbon and taking a quick peek inside, however a day later I had already used two of the products!

Mitchell and Peach Body Cream in English Growers 40ml (Full size 180ml £36)

Take a walk in the English countryside with this body cream that contains English honey, organic cocoa, vitamin B and shea butter.

My thoughts

The smell of this body cream is a bit too herby/floral/lavender for me so I will be passing this on. It  has a lovely texture and is non sticky. I am also impressed that this is paraben free and with no synthetic colours.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powders in Sensation 2.3g £12.99 (Full Size)

My thoughts 

This is a highly intense shimmering eye shadow in white/silver, it would make a fab highlighter actually and Bellapierre say that the powder can be mixed to other makeup products to make custom makeup.

Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish SPF15 in Bare Minimum £4.49 (Full Size)

Tinted Balm SPF15 with almond oil, shea butter and vitamin E.

My thoughts 

Predictably being the nude makeup fiend that I am this Pout Polish has already made its way into my handbag and been used. Bare Minimum is a gorgeous barely there nude shade that makes lips look very pretty and glossy without any sticky weight. Scent wise it smells like vanilla.

Helenere Maitrise du Temps 10ml £38.50 (Full Size)

An intensive serum that moisturises deeply while preventing skin ageing and adds skin elasricity to give a brighter complexion.

My thoughts 

This Swiss brand is new to me but I am looking forward to trying out this serum and will keep you posted on my thoughts after use.

Dove Hair Therapy Intensive Repair 60 Second Treatment Shot 5ml £1.49 (Full Size)

A 60 second pick-me-up for hair promising soft, strong hair with a keratin boost.

My thoughts

I have already used this 60 second treatment shot, I am a big fan of Dove hair care products and even more so a fan of fast working products! This smells wonderful and leaves hair looking fabulous.

Final thoughts

Not terribly exciting on first glance but everything will get used one way or another! Value wise my box was worth an incredible £65! and contained 4 full size products.

February 2014 GlossyBox - The Valentine's Love Edition

The February GlossyBox 2014 has a rather fabulous Valentine's Day inspired kisses design which is great fun and one to keep.

The theme of the box I am not entirely sure about, it may be Love it may be indulgent treats. It wasn't completely clear but there were a few things to enjoy in my box as it happens. I think that these could have been used for a Valentine's Day look but unfortunately mine arrived the day after!

So what was inside my February GlossyBox

The 5 items

Nougat London Sparkling Body Shimmer in Cherry Blossom 100ml (full size 250ml £14)

This body lotion smells amazing, it contains mallow extract, vitamin E and wheatgerm enriched oil and comes with a hint of shimmer. I am looking forward to using this on my decolletage and legs!

Nougat London is a new brand for me to discover so I was pleased to see this in the box.

Maybelline New York Master Kajal Kohl Liner in Pitch Black £5.99

This is a cream stick eye liner and it applies like a dream with a nice and rich, intense black shade. I cannot wait to try this on my eyes. Can be used to line eyes and create bolder looks too.

Ciate London Paint Pot in shade Raspberry Collins £9 for 13.5ml

I am a fan of the Ciate formula but am not overly keen on hot pink shades which Rasberry Collins is so will be passing this on to my sister (lucky her!)

Eldora Eyelashes £3.90

I don't wear false lashes so will be passing these on.

Toni & Guy Hair Meets Wardrobe Stick It Up Gum £7.20 90ml

This hair product from top brand Toni & Guy claims to hold and control for a gravity style with a high shine finish. Glossybox says this product is good for flyaways. I may just give it a go for that as I rarely wear my hair up in a ponytail or require extra volume ;-)

A bonus chocolate treat from Lindt was included, the Lindor Treat Bar was devoured almost immediately upon opening the Glossybox! A gorgeously smooth chocolate with a lovely soft filling. Delicious and worth 79p.

Final thoughts

Value wise this was a brilliant box with 4 out of 5 of my items full size.  On a personal level however in terms of items I would use there are probably 2 that I am looking forward to using, 2 that I will be passing on to others and one I am a little undecided on its suitability for me.

January GlossyBox 2014 - Back To Basics

January's GlossyBox is themed 'Back To Basics' with a range of products 'designed to get you back on the road to moisturised, toned, healthy skin, bright eyes and sculpted eyebrows' ..all sounds good doesn't it?

What's Inside The January 2014 GlossyBox 

So what did I get in my GlossyBox this month?

Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream 2 x 3g mini samples (full size product £13.50 for 33g)

Described as a skincare essential, I recently reviewed this product and I can confirm I do love it. Enriched with vitamins E and B2, a high glycerine content and camphor this really works. However it would have been fantastic if it had been a full sized product.

Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash 50ml (full size £10.25 for 250ml)

I haven't had a chance to try this body wash yet but it smells good and it comes in a generous sample size. Excellent for a weekend away. It contains a blend of juniper, bergamot, geranium and lavender essential oils and is paraben free.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company Floral Slanted Tweezers £8 

These are pretty tweezers. I must admit I am a Tweezerman girl through and through but I have already used these and so far so good and they look perfect in my Cath Kidston makeup bag!

Montagne Jeunesse Passion Peel Off Masque & Blemish Mud Masque £1.09 each

Deep cleansing masks. I stopped using masks when I got psoriasis on my face a couple of months ago. Now it has cleared up I will be giving these a go. I do like MJ masks, the Passion Peel sounds very fruity and who doesn't love a mud pack :)

Final thoughts 

Opening up this box I thought it looked pretty empty, the products were tiny and there wasn't any pretty makeup to reel me in. However what GlossyBox has delivered this month is a box full of useful items and products that I will be using so actually it is a pretty good box this month. Yes I would have loved a full size beauty product somewhere in there but value wise it is not a bad box and for the theme .. it is a perfect fit.

GlossyBox December 2013 - Festive Treasures

December's GlossyBox is a festive affair, starting with the red box with Christmas tree design, the candy cane tissue paper and white bow, the products lying on a bed of green tissue paper. The details are all there.

But what is inside December's box? The theme is apt for this time of year, Festive Treasures - Containing Everything You Need For Party Season.  It comes complete with a mini magazine with expert skincare tips and a handy guide to festive makeup, perfect to digest with a cuppa.

I have to say from the little insert telling me what was inside I was pretty looking forward to the contents.

So here are the five items that I received in my box

Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Nude Lip Gloss 4ml (Full size 8ml £12)

This gloss mini is perfect to pop in the handbag without taking too much space up in your party clutch. I like this shade a lot. A peachy nude, ideal teamed with a smokey eye.

Seche Nail Lacquer in shade Audacious Full Size 14ml £9.95

Audacious is a hot pink, although a nice shade, I feel it is better suited for Summer.  I would have preferred a nude shade, a festive red or a gold/silver metallic which would be more apt in a festive box.

Wilkinson Sword Intuition Naturals Razor Full Size £6.49

I am a firm Gillette fan as I have found a razor in the range that doesn't give me any nicks at all. However, I am willing to give this a go. This razor doesn't require a separate shaving gel, body wash or soap as the blades are surrounded by a creamy soap. Hypoallergenic, fragrance free and paraben free. Contains Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. Smooth party legs will be mine!

Maybelline New York Colour Tattoo 24hr Eye Shadow in shade Turquoise Forever Full Size £4.99

I think I was most disappointed about this as I have been wanting to try the colour tattoos for a while but turquoise? Not really and not for a festive party look. As the mini mag contained a how to on party eyes and used gold/bronze/browns, I would have loved my box to contain the gold... I think some other boxes have had that shade inside. I haven't opened the product and will be passing it on as I won't get much use out of it.

Lipsy London Glam EDT 2ml (Full size £25 for 50ml)

A perfume mini is always handy to take out with you, if you are going straight from office to party. Glam is ok, personally I wouldn't purchase the full size version but for a night out it is ideal. The scent itself combines fruity honey and sweet top notes, the heart notes complement with Orchid, Jasmine and Peony and the base notes are deep with Amaryllis and black incense.
Sweet and floral, this I think is aimed at a more youthful audience than me. However, it does settle to a calmer, lighter fragrance. Not bad.

Final thoughts - Value wise the contents of the box are approximately £28.50 which is great value but I think it misses slightly with the choice of shades and the rather odd inclusion of a razor....

What's Inside The November 2013 GlossyBox

November's GlossyBox was delivered on a cold, wet and sodden day. Unfortunately by the time I received it the outer box was soaking wet and this had penetrated the inner box to a very small extent. The theme for this month's box of five samples is based around Winter Beauty Essentials. This month the box also includes a glossy mini magazine to read with tips on the perfect Winter red and dark plum lipsticks and more.

So what is inside my November 2013 GlossyBox ?

Elegant Touch Rapid Dry for Nails - Full Size £3

I haven't tried this out but as the name suggest this spray promises to dry nail polish in 60 seconds whilst also conditioning cuticles and leaving the nails glossy. I am looking forward to putting this to the test as I am so impatient when it comes to polishes drying and always seem to manage to smudge them! Watch this space.

Yves Rocher France Hand Cream - Full size £1.95 

Being the hand cream obsessive that I am this has already found its way into my handbag. This is a gorgeous light fluid and runny hand cream that smells just like a Terry's Chocolate Orange which personally I love, although it does make me want to eat my hands. However, the scent is not overpowering and it doesn't linger too long. Hands are left silky soft. This is from the Festive Winter collection from Yves Rocher France.

Vichy Idealia Life Serum 2 x 3ml samples - £29.50 for 30ml & a 3ml Idealia Smoothing and Illumination Cream. (value of samples £7)

I love my serums asd the Vichy Idealia Life Serum was on my to try list so I will be trying this sooner than I thought.

B. Quick One Coat Professional Finish Nail Polish - Full Size £4.99

In the box is a bottle of polish from Superdrug's own brand B. I received shade Mermaid which is a greeny/blue teal colour. It is not really a shade that I would get much use out of so I will be gifting it. It dries super fast and one coat achieves opacity. I liked the wide brush and it was easy to apply.

Emite Make Up Micronized Eyeshadow in Dams - £16.80

Completely free from oil, nickel, parabens and perfume. It has been finely milled and is silky like in texture. I love the idea of this eyeshadow and would probably have loved it if it had been in a colour that I use a lot. My shade is black and as I have small eyes I tend to wear lighter colours to open up the eye so again I would probably not use this much if at all. However, if you do like creating smokey dark eyes this would be a fabulous addition. Emite Make Up is not a brand I have come across before but after all GlossyBox is all about discovering something new..

Final thoughts 

Value wise this box delivers with four full size products and a value of over £34. It is a shame that you cannot choose shades that you would probably get more use out of, now that would be fantastic.

What's Inside The August 2013 GlossyBox

August's Glossybox theme is High Flyers - Bringing you all you need to be a flawless high flyer. Inside the box are selected skincare, hair and makeup heroes from around the globe.

So what was inside mine 

USA - Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir 1.5ml Sample size (full 100ml £63)

The description

Viva La Juicy highlights the succulent ripe berry notes and gourmand accents, while adding a juicy touch of honeysuckle and a sultry hint of sandalwood.

My thoughts - This is quite nice and fruity but not overly sweet so I would use this but this isn't quite my taste so I wouldn't be going out to purchase a full size bottle.

Brazil - Oceane MakeUp Remover Pen (not available in UK)

The description 

This pen delivers a mobile, mess and fuss free makeup touch-up/removal solution.

My thoughts 

I am not too bothered about this product but I will probably try it when I am using a red lipstick as I do get into some mess when applying!! Could be quite innovative.

Sweden - Emite Make Up Eyelash Curler (£20)

This has a special curved design to suit all eye shapes without touching your makeup base. I have never used an eyelash curler and am unlikely to so am not able to say if this is any good.

UK - Jelly Pong Pong 2-in1 Shadow/Liner (full size £10.50)

The description 

This creamy crayon can be used to line the eye as well as smudged and blended as a shadow.

My thoughts

The shade in my box was a nice deep, dark green. I will use this and it did feel nice when I swatched it across my skin. It didn't pull at all.

USA Tresemme Platinum Strength Concentrated Treatment Shot (15ml £1.49)

The description 

In sixty seconds will transform frizzy, fried hair into beach goddess worthy hair.

My thoughts

A nice quick treatment product, looking forward to seeing if it lives up to its claims!

Final thoughts 

After last month's great box I think this month's box was rather disappointing. I wasn't that excited when I opened the box and to be honest I haven't been tempted to use anything as of yet. However, value wise this does tick the boxes.

What's Inside The July 2013 Glossybox

July's Glossybox is themed Seaside Splash, the perfect box to help you prep for your Summer getaway. Quite often I say that I am not sure why they bother with a theme as I don't find the contents to particularly match the theme (except for probably the Harrods Edition and the excellent Natural Box). This month however I am happy to say the theme and the contents of my box fit perfectly.

The contents 

Ciate London Paint Pot £9 (full size) shade Mistress 

Paint pots are fab and this full size pot is a great addition to the box. If you haven't tried Ciate before you are in for a treat. There are 3 different shades floating around in the boxes and personally it would have been lovely to have received a different one as I already have Mistress which is a fab red. Click the link in the title of this section to see the gorgeous tomatoey red on my nails.

Nip+Fab Shine Fix £9.95 15ml (Full Size)

This is described as a light gel that removes and absorbs excess oil flow to instantly control shine.

I haven't had a chance to use this fully (ie test it out for a day or so) but it does instantly mattify the skin and can be used as often as required. It does have quite a medicinal scent and I found it to be a little sticky.

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist (25ml) Full Size 125ml £23

Claims to create effortlessly tousled 'just back from the beach' waves. Adds texture, volume and healthy shine to all hair types in a weightless mist formula.

I absolutely love this, I have had my box for a few days now and in the heat have opted for carefree waves. This smells absolutely gorgeous and fresh with its cucumber scent. It defines the waves and adds shine although some pieces of my hair were a little crunchy but not overly so.

Anantomicals Spray Misty For Me Facial Spritz 100ml £6 (Full Size)

Suitable for all skin types this timely facial spritz has been a welcome addition to my skin these last few scorching hot days. It has a pleasant cooling effect and my skin feels nice and soft too. It contains calming Lavender and refreshing Peppermint extracts. Smells good.

Coola Organic Suncare Collection - Coola Mineral Face SPF20 Rose Essence Tint (7ml) Full Size 50ml £29.99

This is a teeny sample sized tube which I haven't tried yet. I will give it a go tomorrow. Hand swatched I have found it to be light in texture, slightly warming in colour and providing radiance to the skin but I will see how it transfers to my face and report back.

It looks promising though with it being paraben free, packed with antioxidants and hypoallergenic. It apparently provides complete UVA/UVB protection and fights free radicals whilst soothing, toning and minimizing pores. Although it claims that Organic Acai Oil delivers powerful anti-ageing benefits and organic Evening Primrose and Linseed Oils reduce inflammation and balance moisture, you are very unlikely to see these benefits from one or two applications.

ETA - I have been using this three days now (7ml seems to go quite far!) and I really like it. it gives warmth to the face, a dewy finish and it covers and smooths pores. Good stuff.

Final thoughts

Gorgeous bright turquoise box with a seaside coral/starfish print and useful contents that match the theme brilliantly make this a stonker of a box this month. With 3 full size products with a total value of just under £26 and 3 additional products one a perfect travel size this box is excellent value and one that I was rather excited to open and use the products!

What's Inside My June GlossyBox 2013

June's GlossyBox is themed as creating your perfect Summer Look.

So what did I get inside mine...

A nice mix of makeup, skincare and haircare. I like the variety in the box.

MONU Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 (30ml) Full size 50ml £29.95

This smells lovely and fresh and it is suitable for all skin types. I am tempted to use this now but wondering if actually I should keep it for taking away as it is the perfect travel size... decision, decisions.
A Zinc Oxide SPF provides both UVA and UVB protection and it also contains Vitamin E.

Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm (Full Size) £5

I am a huge fan of Figs & Rouge lip balms and so this is a welcome addition. Comes in a handy tube, is 100% natural and is tinted. Coco Rose is lightly tinted pink with a slight shimmer and a delicate rose scent. Very pretty and moisturising.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Original Serum (25ml) Full size 50ml £6.29

It has been a long time since I have used this serum (a staple for many years) and to be honest right now I have so many hair serums that it may take a long time to get round to using it. Liking the glossytip of applying it in the shower when hair is soaking wet. Not tried that before!

MeMeME Cosmetics Eye Inspire Mono Eye Shadow (Full Size) £4.99 

A baked eyeshadow that can be used wet or dry. I received shade Mocha - as this is a Summer box it would have been nice to receive a brighter or lighter shade. Although I have tried this brand I haven't tried their eyeshadow so I would be happy to use this as part of a smokey eye look.

Helen E Cosmetics Waterproof Protective Lip Liner (Full Size) £8 

I received shade 4 which is a gorgeous deep pink shade, I would be happy to wear this alone with a bit of gloss or under my lipstick to make it last longer. It applies really soft.

Final thoughts 

I will probably be using all of the products in this box although some I can see lasting longer than others due to the nature of the product and my level of excitement towards it! Value wise there are 3 full size products and those alone come to £18  so a great box this month.

What's Inside The April GlossyBox 2013 - Pearl Lowe Design

The April Edition GlossyBox has been designed by Pearl Lowe in a collaboration with GlossyBox, now as I reuse my boxes to store makeup and have them on display, I have to say this is a very pretty floral print and I am looking forward to filling it!

As ever it is the attention to detail that makes this such a pleasure to open

What's inside my box 

Billed as the Spring Fever box it contains all you need ready for Spring - As I am writing this the weather has warmed up nicely so pretty well timed :-)

I have to say I was pretty excited when I opened it up and saw the contents happy - it has the perfect mix of makeup, skincare and scent. Value wise I feel that this is an excellent box.

Sunsense Daily Face SPF 50+  10g (Full size is 75g and costs £18.50)

This is described as a light, soft cream tinted for a sheer matte finish. It has a high SPF and is oil free making it ideal for all skin types. I haven't opened this yet because I think it has a snap top and I am not ready to try it yet. I would think this would be perfect to pop in your bag if you were going away.

So Elixir Purple - Yves Rocher Eau de Parfum 5ml ( 50ml costs £44)

I am saving this for a Perfume Sample Saturday post - cute bottle! However the blurb says that this is 'an intoxicating and magnetic fragrance boasting a unique infusion of Tuberose,Vetiver and Patchouli culminating in a floral-woody elixir'.

ModelCo Cheek + Lip Tint in Rosy Red Full Size 10ml costing £15

Multi tasking lip and cheek tint in a nice shade that provides a pretty flushed appearance. I have a real problem with these products as I cannot get on with the runny gel formula on my lips and this was true to form for me but as a cheek tint this is ace. I applied a tiny amount to my cheeks and it stayed there all day. Easy to use and blend.

Nip+Fab Dry Skin Fix Body Butter 50ml (200ml retails for £9.95)

Available in Mango, Coconut Latte or Pistachio I was sent the Pistachio. This looks and smells exactly like pistachio ice cream. The body butter comes in a generous 50ml tub and is heavily scented and sweet so if you don't like  pistachio you will hate it! Happily I do like this scent and the butter is nice, soft and creamy which makes it easy to apply and absorbs quickly, leaving skin satin smooth.

and finally..

Essie Nail Lacquer in shade Nice is Nice Full Size 13.5ml £7.99

A perfect Spring pastel shade - this lilac is beautifully creamy and delicate. I love it against my skin tone and I don't own anything like it in my collection. I think most people will be pleased to receive an Essie polish in the box.

Final thoughts 

2 full size products totalling £23 and 3 decent sized sample products ensure that Glossybox have pulled out all the stops with this box, complete with a collaboration with Pearl Lowe for the box design mean that this box is one that will be pretty sought after....

Sample Sachet Sunday - Sanctuary Spa Active Reverse Thermal Transformation Mask

As promised, on Friday, I tried the mask which came with the January 2013 Glossybox  so that I could have this review ready for Sunday.

Sanctuary Spa - 30 Day Thermal Transformation

How to use - 

1. Cleanse skin thoroughly, removing all traces of make-up. Pat skin dry

L- Serum R - Clay Mask

My thoughts 

As mentioned in the Glossybox review the product did promise instant results after one use of skin looking brighter & tauter and noticeably reducing 'crepey' skin. The sachets provided only one use.
I liked the ritual of cleansing, applying the serum (which I was surprised to find was a thick cream) and following this with the clay mask over the top of it. I loved the feeling of the warming sensation but to my intense disappointment this didn't last long at all. I sat back and relaxed for 15 minutes whilst reading a book, waiting for the magic to do its work.

The results

Scent wise this has a slight herbal smell and the rose clay mask has a very subtle rose scent, very pleasant to use and apply.

Once I had rinsed off the mask, my face felt so soft and actually I am very pleased to report that my skin looked incredibly smooth (fine line free) and plumped. This works!

I would actually be very interested in trying a full size product as the effect was visible to see and I want to know if it lasts..

Sanctuary Spa Active Reverse Thermal Transformation Mask costs £27.50
