Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer Review

Origins say

This lightweight, oil-free, energising moisturiser instantly hydrates and revs up radiance. It's fortified with legendary skin-boosters like Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean. Lackluster-looking skin is rapidly refreshed and revitalised to create a healthy, vibrant glow.

My thoughts

Now if you, like me, love the scent of freshly peeled, juicy oranges then you will absolutely adore the fragrance of the GinZing moisturiser. Zingy, bursting with zesty orange and completely uplighting, this is a real mood booster.

The actual moisturiser is an incredibly light, almost gel like liquid. It instantly absorbs, sinking in to reveal bright, glowing skin. I honestly cannot fault it. I only have a sample size but I am very tempted to make this my next moisturiser purchase.

Sample Sachet Sunday - Origins Ginzing

Origins GinZing

Refreshing Eye Cream to brighten and depuff

Origins say

Nature's clinically-proven morning-after eye cream helps to reduce the look of dark circles. Unsightly bags and puffiness seem less visible. And Origins proprietary complex of Caffeine from Coffee bean, Panax Ginseng, Magnolia Extract and natural optic brighteners rapidly wakes up, refreshes and restores radiance to tired eyes.

My thoughts

This eye cream is reasonably thick in texture and pearlised in colour which means that when the light hits it, it reflects to give the brightening effect. As a brightener there is no doubt that it does this. However I did find that it just sat on the top of my skin and dried like this appearing  like an unblended highlighter and it didn't feel in the least bit moisturising which I would have liked to have seen. I applied it as I would a normal eye cream, a rice sized amount under the eye using my ring finger.

My eye issues are more the lines underneath them (as well as dark circles) so I would probably not purchase this full size as it doesn't address my concerns fully.

Origins A Perfect World SPF25 Age Defence Moisturiser With White Tea Review

I have been wanting to try Origins A Perfect World SPF25 for some time now and have finally managed to get hold of a sample. This was given to me at the counter in John Lewis Oxford Street a little while ago.

Origins Claim

This lightweight moisturiser contains world-famous Silver Tip White Tea, Vitamins C and E plus French Maritime Pine and UVA / UVB sunscreens.Designed for everyday use, this oil-free moisturiser builds an invisible bubble of protection around skin to help minimise the appearance of damage including lines, wrinkles and age spots.

My thoughts

I dug this out at the first sign of the scorching weather because of the fact it contained SPF25

First I should mention that these are my initial thoughts as I have only been using this moisturiser for 4 days now. However I have liked it enough to want to share my thoughts. The sample pot is quite generous and I reckon that I have probably got about a 2 week trial in there.

It is a lovely light fluid consistency that is so easy to apply to the skin without any drag. Colour wise it reminds me of looking into a tin of magnolia paint, but as pretty much all of the walls in my house are magnolia I am not complaining! It sinks into my skin immediately and leaves it feeling lovely, soft and smooth to the touch. I love the fact that it is a high factor product of SPF25 but it really doesn't feel like you are applying a sun lotion or leave any tacky residue on the skin. My combination skin feels comfortable all day.

The scent is really rather fabulous, ever so slightly citrusy but one that really appeals to me.

So far so good, skin looks and feels nice.

Origins Brighter By Nature SPF35 Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer - Review

I have been wanting to try Origins A Perfect World SPF25 moisturizer for a little while now seduced by the inclusion of the ingredient of white tea and the fact it contains a SPF, which is pretty much a prerequisite for me now. I love drinking white tea so am curious to try facial products that contain it too... I have asked a few times at Origins counters at a variety of stores and each time been told they have had no pots available to decant. On the last occasion, the counter assistant having listened to what I was looking for in a moisturiser suggested I try the new Origins Brighter By Nature SPF35 skin tone correcting moisturizer and gave me a rather generous 15 ml sample to take away with me.

Origins say -

This clinically-proven protective moisturizer with skin-illuminating Japanese Basil Leaf, Cucumber, Peony and Vitamin C plus nature's brilliant new advance, Palmaria, helps to restore clarity and brightness to dull, uneven skin.
Formulated with SPF35 to prevent new spots from forming.
Best for dark spots & discoloration
Best for combination/dry skin

My thoughts -

My skin concerns are to prevent more lines and wrinkles forming as I age and also to prevent dark spots from  appearing, I already have one on my forehead so am conscious of the fact I do not want any more.

The moisturiser is lotion like in consistency, as it has a high SPF, it feels to me very much like a runny sun cream. It even has that 'summer holiday' scent, slightly citrusy. I personally find the scent quite pleasant. I have normal/combination skin but after using this over two weeks I found that I had patches of dryness, so it couldn't have been providing quite enough moisturisation for my skin. However, during one of these weeks I spent 3 days by the sea and wind in Brighton and the water (when cleansing) was much softer than what I am used to at home so whether that had a bearing on the results I am not entirely sure!

I liked the feel of my skin immediately after application, it felt nice and soft but the soft feeling didn't remain as the day went on.

Plus points

SPF35 - Good, high protection
I felt that the dark spot I had was getting lighter with use of this moisturiser.

Conclusion

This was my first ever use of an Origins product. Although the moisturiser was quite pleasant to apply, my skin wasn't exuding the brightness or a healthy glow that I was expecting. It didn't leave it looking nicely hydrated, in fact it showed signs of being quite dry and dehydrated. It is a shame as I wanted to rave about this product.

I still want to try A Perfect World SPF25 to see what it is like in comparison.
