Make Green Eyes Stand Out with Brown Eyeliner
An eyeliner that I have been reaching for so often lately is the Bourjois Metallise metallic eyeliner in Brun Alliage. Brun Alliage is a deep, dark brown with a very soft metallic aspect to it that reflects in light. The shimmer is barely noticeable but has a wonderful way of reflecting in my pupils and just makes my eyes sparkle with life and enhances the greenness. Take a look at the photo above to see what I mean.
I notice that when I wear this eyeliner that I get loads of compliments on my eye colour and my eyes so it is 100% worth buying..although I think it is not made anymore :( It is such a pity as this is a fabulous product, waterproof, soft to apply and rich in colour.
Ah well, I will be looking for a dupe soon!

MAC Russian Red Lipstick
I have fallen in love with a full on true red lipstick - MAC Russian Red is an intensely pigmented blue toned red. It complements my complexion so beautifully it literally lights up my face.
Although it is described as a matte shade I find it to be creamy to apply and personally I don't find it to be drying to my lips but my lips are in very good condition.
For me, confidence has come with age and I have worn red lipstick more times this year than all the other times in my life put together!

Jade's Rock It Glitter Liner - Little Mix By Collection
The item that I wanted to try out most from the Little Mix by Collection bits that I was sent was the glitter liner.. it was turquoise sparkly loveliness and that was just in the tube!
Swatched it looked very promising and the application brush was decent and didn't splay when I applied the product, which I was really impressed with given its price...
Collection say
Easy to apply precision glitter liner
Fast drying, water resistant and long lasting.
My thoughts
It was indeed really easy to apply to my eyes and it did dry quickly to my relief. It really set off my green eyes and I loved it, will definitely be using this again and again. For my complete look I teamed it with lashings of black mascara and peach glossed lips - first I applied Revlon's Smoked Peach Matte lipstick and topped it with L'Oreal Glam Shine in Watermelon.

Little Mix By Collection Perrie's Lipstick - Purple Pout
Being in my mid 30's I am probably not the target market for the Little Mix by Collection Makeup Range, I know nothing of their music or really who each of the ladies in the group are. However, what I do have is a passion for makeup and I do like Collection Makeup's incredibly affordable products - see the Lasting Perfection Concealer and Cream Puff lip cream so when a few bits from the collection arrived on my desk, I didn't waste too long in trying them out.
Perrie's Lipstick
When I swatched this lipstick it was quite light and sheer and I thought it was a deep plum shade so planned to wear it out on the Saturday.
I must not have applied it hard enough as I wasn't prepared for how different it looked when I applied it to my lips. A colour popping purple, there was no hiding from anyone with these statement lips.. honestly, I would have never chosen to buy a purple lipstick as I wouldn't have thought it would suit me but actually..I think it does!

Face Of The Day Featuring Nars Turkish Delight Lipgloss
Friday Night and as I decided to focus on my eyes I chose to partner my lips with a pale and creamy pink gloss in the shape of the cult Nars Turkish Delight. This lipgloss is reputed to be a favourite of reality star Kim Kardashian. I think it goes perfectly.
My eyes are lined with Clinique's Quickliner Intense in Intense Chocolate.

How To Create The Illusion of Bigger Eyes
I have small eyes, there is no getting away from that fact. Whilst I can wish all I like to have bigger eyes, it will never happen so what I have to do is try my best to give the illusion of bigger eyes... I love heavy smoky eyes but the reality is my eyes look bigger and brighter the lighter I keep the shadow and liner around them. So whilst occasionally I will experiment with other looks I tend to stick to what looks best on my eyes.
A couple of tricks that I use -
Don't over line the eyes - I rarely will line my eyes all the way around as this closes the eyes - instead I start lining from the outer corners of my eye and take the eye liner up to the start of the Iris. This prevents the eyes from looking so close set.
I briefly touched on the other tried and tested method a few months ago in my Breakfast at Tiffany's post
This is in my opinion THE best tip I have learnt.
Apply an ivory/cream pencil on the waterline - You can use white but that can come across as too stark. I tend to do it just on my lower eye but you can do it on top too.You can can then still apply your chosen liner under it.
I used both this methods last night when I was heading out for a party - I have attached a few pictures so you can see. What do you think? Do my eyes look bigger and brighter?
What I used
Primers - Benefit Porefessional, Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion

Face Of The Day - FOTD
I am really loving the new range of Elixir lipsticks from Max Factor. Here I am wearing the shade Mulberry. This is a gorgeous berry shade with a very slight frost finish to it which stops it being a flat colour. I will be doing a full review on the Max Factor Elixir lipsticks shortly.
The rest of the makeup
Primer - L'Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer
Foundation - Airbase High Definition Airbrush Makeup - Medium 03
Bronzer - Accessorize Baked Bronzer Duo - Bali Shade 2
Highlighter - Nars Orgasm Illuminator
Blusher - Accessorize Merged Baked Blusher 6 in Scandal
Eye Shadow - Max Factor Earth Spirit Eye shadow - 107 Burnt Bark
Mascara - Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black
Remaining fresh looking and flawless all day, I was very pleased with this combination.

Make Up For The School Run - Just 2 minutes!
My little boy has recently started nursery school, whereas before we could pretty much be anywhere at anytime we are now battling against the dreaded clock..
I like to take my time applying my makeup, nothing excessive like Joan Collins (a rumoured three hours) but around 10- 15 minutes usually and more if required.
I have quickly learnt that in order to get myself and him ready in the morning the one thing that I don't have much of is time. Most of my morning is battling with him to eat his breakfast and chasing him around the house to get ready!
I like to wear makeup and am not the kind of person that will pop to the shops without my makeup.
So I have perfected the it takes less than 2 minutes ready for the day look.. I know it takes this as I timed it!
Two minutes, four products.
Base - Liz Earle Skin Tint in shade Beige 02
Blusher - Flawless You Forever Cheeky in Country Fresh - I love how natural this is.
Mascara - Max Factor Xperience Volumising Mascara in brown/black - My go to everyday mascara
Lipstick - Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Raspberry 045 - An instant pop of colour is a guaranteed face brightener, I LOVE this shade.
Here you go - a picture of me on the school run

Outfit/Face Of The Day - A Wedding Guest
On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of a University friend of mine.
Both the wedding and reception were held at the Sheraton Park Lane, London. This is a wonderfully grand venue, just perfect for the occasion. It was a stunning wedding, the setting, food and service were outstanding.
I don't often do an outfit post but I wanted to share the outfit that I wore for the wedding :-)
Nails - Butter London 'Toff'.
Bag - Mulberry Shoulder Bag in black leather
Dress - Coast 'Nikita' Ruched Dress in Black
Nikita from Coast is a fabulous choice for a dress as it really enhanced my figure, coming in beautifully to show off the waist and sits not clings on to the hips and thighs. The scooped neckline is flattering and not low which I find with so many dresses that I like (too much on show!)
A shot from the front and back!
On my eyes I included a hint of purple eye shadow and on my lips I kept it nude topped with a gloss, on my cheeks my favourite blusher - Nars Deepthroat. The base had to be Estee Lauder's Double Wear Foundation. This really does provide THE perfect, flawless and long lasting base to work with. I love it.

Face Of The Day - FOTD - Pink
Today's post is a face of the day - FOTD
Every so often I like to wear a real pink blusher and pink lips.
A few years ago I would never have chosen to wear pink shades, I tended to opt for browner toned blushers and darker shades of lipsticks but I think I was definitely limiting myself, now I find myself drawn to pink shades quite often.
What do you think ?
Do let me know if you would like to know more information on what products I am wearing here.

Face Of The Day - Breakfast At Tiffany's, My Interpretation
Some of you may know I recently attended a Breakfast At Tiffany's themed Hen Do.
Dress code was a black dress and pearls. Now I am the first to admit I don't have Audrey Hepburn's figure or facial looks in any way, shape or form but I was willing to embrace her 'look' and after watching Lisa Eldridge's video tutorial I set to work on my own interpretation of Holly Golightly's make-up....
The key things I learnt and followed from Lisa's video -
Use a flesh coloured pencil in the waterline to give more of a wide-eyed look - I used Une Skin Glow Pencil Q01 . Honestly this is one of the best tips I have ever learnt and I now do this quite often, it instantly wakes the eyes up. I used to use a white pencil in the inner corners of my eyes but I love this far more, it looks really natural.
I used a black liquid pen liner to create the girly flick which seems to disappear when I put my eyes in normal position!
Lisa said not to use any bronzer or gloss, the look was to be fresh and flawless so I just used a foundation (Estee Lauder Double Wear) and blush (Nars Deep Throat) and used the centre of Mac Semi Precious Rose Quartz MSF to highlight.
The lips
I lined my lips with a nude coloured pencil and then mixed two lipsticks - MeMeMe Ava a dusty rose shade (review coming soon) and Lancome's Rouge Mars peachy/pink tone to get a really nice, pretty shade.

New Hair And Face Of The Day
Yesterday I went to the Fabulous Hair Company to get my hair highlighted and trimmed. I have been going to Fabulous since I was 19 years old. I met Kiri when he came to purchase a mobile phone from where I was working, my hair was needing a cut so I paid him a visit and never looked back. I really do think that Kiri (the owner) does the best hair cuts. I am quite fussy but have always come out of Fabulous feeling wonderful, like a new woman, and I feel that this is so important!
The team at Fabulous are friendly and attentive - regularly asking if you would like a tea or coffee and bringing with it a nice biscuit too. The magazines are all the latest and they stock and use Paul Mitchell products.
Readers will know that my roots were crying out for attention, I have been guilty of neglecting my colour. I was concerned that having left it so long it would cause problems but Kiri assured me he could sort it. He is one of those rare hairdressers, that listens to what you have in mind but also makes suggestions. I had 3 shades put into my hair, the highlights are lovely and natural and exactly what I was imagining when I went in. I think that he did an incredible job and you would never know that I had two tone hair (major dark roots) when I entered his premises at 9am!
I promised Kiri I would not leave it so long next time and this time I meant it.
Fabulous are in North London, for more details visit the website by clicking here http://www.fabuloushaircompany.com/
Here is a picture of me in the Salon, unfortunately I was suffering really badly from hay fever all morning so by the time this was taken I was feeling really quite ill, my eyes were puffy and my makeup virtually wiped off!
I usually have my hair blow dried straight but this time I went for something a little different.
Face Of The Day
My hair still looks great today so I thought I would share with you a FOTD of how I looked when I went in to London this morning.

FOTD - My Bank Holiday Monday Make-up
As you all know I have been going peachy crazy these past few weeks so for a change I went all Pretty in Pink!
This picture was taken inside the house
And this one was in the car on the motorway on the way to Lakeside - No I am not driving...
On my cheeks I have Benefit's Posietint and on my lips I am wearing the gloss I wore on my wedding day - Clinique's Colour Surge Impossibly Glossy in Sure Thing (very apt don't you think ?)
The gloss is no longer available which is a real shame as I was going to say how lovely it is, great colour and not at all sticky...
