Face Of The Day Featuring Nars Turkish Delight Lipgloss
Friday Night and as I decided to focus on my eyes I chose to partner my lips with a pale and creamy pink gloss in the shape of the cult Nars Turkish Delight. This lipgloss is reputed to be a favourite of reality star Kim Kardashian. I think it goes perfectly.
My eyes are lined with Clinique's Quickliner Intense in Intense Chocolate.

As soon as I opened the lid I knew that I would like these shades, they are wearable and hugely flattering against my green eyes.
In just the same way as the Nars blushers are buildable for a more intense colour, the same is true of the eye shadow that I tried. Both are super smooth and not at all chalky almost silky in texture in application, blend easily and beautifully to leave a gorgeous finish.
The cool icy tones appeal to me and with the flash look almost metallic, with the platinum brightening the inner corner of the eyes nicely. Silver smoke is a smokey grey with a slight green tinge to it, nice and murky for a great smokey effect.
Looking forward to having a few plays with it to see how best to use this combination. Look out for some Eyes Of The Day Posts featuring Vent Glace.
Having seen the whole Nars collection for this Autumn, it has a real vibe of Narnia about it. Like it very much.

Nars Orgasm Illuminator - Review
Nars Orgasm Illuminator was included in the first ever GlossyBox and was one of the items I used most last Summer. As soon as the sun shone this year, out it came again and my love for it was re-ignited.
This liquid Illuminator is packed with flecks of gold, peach and pink shimmer, it can be worn alone, mixed with a primer, moisturiser or liquid foundation for subtle radiance. My preferred use for it however is to just apply it as a highlighter after applying my make up for an incredible summer 'glow' and radiance. The shade also provides a lovely warm colour to my skin tone with almost a bronzing effect, and depending on how much product I use, can give a dewy appearance.

As it is a liquid product, If you do use it as a highlighter it is important not to use it after powder as it will wipe away the powder makeup, for best results use only with other liquid products or apply before powder blushers.
This really is a beautiful 'warm' highlighter, ideal for the Summer months when you may have a warmer tone to your skin. The peachy shade provides a more 'natural' and golden luminous appearance of a healthy glow as opposed to the cooler toned highlighters that are on the market.
It has a really pleasant fragrant orange scent and it blends in nicely if you just want a subtle radiance, but as mentioned before I prefer to use it in more dramatic fashion to highlight my cheek bones (much like the latest advertising to accompany this product!)
This Summer the Illuminator has undergone a makeover with new packaging and the addition of 3 new shades to alongside the original Orgasm Illuminator.
Laguna - Golden Bronze Hue
Super Orgasm - Peachy Pink with Gold Glitter
Copacabana - Pearlescent Sheen
Nars Illuminator costs £22 for 30ml

Outfit/Face Of The Day - A Wedding Guest
On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of a University friend of mine.
Both the wedding and reception were held at the Sheraton Park Lane, London. This is a wonderfully grand venue, just perfect for the occasion. It was a stunning wedding, the setting, food and service were outstanding.
I don't often do an outfit post but I wanted to share the outfit that I wore for the wedding :-)
Nails - Butter London 'Toff'.
Bag - Mulberry Shoulder Bag in black leather
Dress - Coast 'Nikita' Ruched Dress in Black
Nikita from Coast is a fabulous choice for a dress as it really enhanced my figure, coming in beautifully to show off the waist and sits not clings on to the hips and thighs. The scooped neckline is flattering and not low which I find with so many dresses that I like (too much on show!)
A shot from the front and back!
On my eyes I included a hint of purple eye shadow and on my lips I kept it nude topped with a gloss, on my cheeks my favourite blusher - Nars Deepthroat. The base had to be Estee Lauder's Double Wear Foundation. This really does provide THE perfect, flawless and long lasting base to work with. I love it.

Face Of The Day - Breakfast At Tiffany's, My Interpretation
Some of you may know I recently attended a Breakfast At Tiffany's themed Hen Do.
Dress code was a black dress and pearls. Now I am the first to admit I don't have Audrey Hepburn's figure or facial looks in any way, shape or form but I was willing to embrace her 'look' and after watching Lisa Eldridge's video tutorial I set to work on my own interpretation of Holly Golightly's make-up....
The key things I learnt and followed from Lisa's video -
Use a flesh coloured pencil in the waterline to give more of a wide-eyed look - I used Une Skin Glow Pencil Q01 . Honestly this is one of the best tips I have ever learnt and I now do this quite often, it instantly wakes the eyes up. I used to use a white pencil in the inner corners of my eyes but I love this far more, it looks really natural.
I used a black liquid pen liner to create the girly flick which seems to disappear when I put my eyes in normal position!
Lisa said not to use any bronzer or gloss, the look was to be fresh and flawless so I just used a foundation (Estee Lauder Double Wear) and blush (Nars Deep Throat) and used the centre of Mac Semi Precious Rose Quartz MSF to highlight.
The lips
I lined my lips with a nude coloured pencil and then mixed two lipsticks - MeMeMe Ava a dusty rose shade (review coming soon) and Lancome's Rouge Mars peachy/pink tone to get a really nice, pretty shade.

Blush Love - Nars Deep Throat Blush Review
I have been lusting after Nars Deep Throat blush ever since I swatched it back at Christmas time along with Torrid blush (coral with shimmer). Simply put, I love the product hate the name.
My little sister came up trumps and surprised me with the blush as one of my birthday presents, thank heaven for little sisters!
Before this I had never owned anything from Nars but I knew from reading magazines, blogs and Twitter that Nars blushes are highly thought of, even my sister has had one of their blushes....
The outer packaging
Closed - This is lovely and velvety to the touch, light but not flimsy.
The product - Comes with an inbuilt mirror which is a good size, I think this is really portable.
Tiny shimmer particles
Nars Deep Throat is described as a peach blush with shimmer. I think this is on the pink side of peach and the shimmer is so subtle and fine that it provides a healthy, natural glow as opposed to being shiny or glittery.
The blush itself has a wonderful light powdery sheer texture which is perfect for layering if you want a more intense look but I love the naturalness of it.
I can see why people love Nars blushers and I am certain this will not be my last purchase, in fact next on my list is Torrid.
I am wearing Deep Throat in my FOTD
Nars blushes are £20.50 to purchase but I think they are worth every penny.
Which Nars blush do you love ?

New Hair And Face Of The Day
Yesterday I went to the Fabulous Hair Company to get my hair highlighted and trimmed. I have been going to Fabulous since I was 19 years old. I met Kiri when he came to purchase a mobile phone from where I was working, my hair was needing a cut so I paid him a visit and never looked back. I really do think that Kiri (the owner) does the best hair cuts. I am quite fussy but have always come out of Fabulous feeling wonderful, like a new woman, and I feel that this is so important!
The team at Fabulous are friendly and attentive - regularly asking if you would like a tea or coffee and bringing with it a nice biscuit too. The magazines are all the latest and they stock and use Paul Mitchell products.
Readers will know that my roots were crying out for attention, I have been guilty of neglecting my colour. I was concerned that having left it so long it would cause problems but Kiri assured me he could sort it. He is one of those rare hairdressers, that listens to what you have in mind but also makes suggestions. I had 3 shades put into my hair, the highlights are lovely and natural and exactly what I was imagining when I went in. I think that he did an incredible job and you would never know that I had two tone hair (major dark roots) when I entered his premises at 9am!
I promised Kiri I would not leave it so long next time and this time I meant it.
Fabulous are in North London, for more details visit the website by clicking here http://www.fabuloushaircompany.com/
Here is a picture of me in the Salon, unfortunately I was suffering really badly from hay fever all morning so by the time this was taken I was feeling really quite ill, my eyes were puffy and my makeup virtually wiped off!
I usually have my hair blow dried straight but this time I went for something a little different.
Face Of The Day
My hair still looks great today so I thought I would share with you a FOTD of how I looked when I went in to London this morning.
Clarins - Beauty Flash Balm
Estee Lauder - Double Wear Foundation in 2C1 Pale Almond
New CID - i-Bronzer in Rio
Nars Blush - Deep Throat
Clinique - Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Strawberry Fudge
Max Factor - Xperience Volume Mascara in Black/Brown
Clinique - Cream Shaper for Eyes in Chocolate Lustre
L'Oreal Paris - Glamshine Reflexion in Sheer Watermelon

Bringing Makeup To Your Door - GlossyBox
I was recently contacted by the team behind GlossyBox with details of a brand new service that brings maxi sized samples every month to your door for a subscription cost of £10 a month. In the US there is a similar service called Birchbox and apparently the service is popping up in other countries too.
I was sent a complimentary box for review.
Twitter was abuzz with excitement on when the May boxes would arrive and what they would contain in them... Hints were sent out by the team re something from Nars. I was keen to see what that would be as I am a Nars virgin and finally my Glossybox arrived on Friday. Even the outer packaging is pretty!
Inside this box is another dusty pink box - this will be useful to store things in!
All beautifully packaged inside, looks and feels luxurious
And finally the products
In my box I found -
Nars Orgasm Illuminator (full size) - This alone costs £21.50!
All For Eve - Eve Red Lipstick - RRP £10 - A red lipstick with a bluetone that should suit most
Bionova Lab Bioactive Cleanser - For Normal/Dry Skin - This is a teeny sample
Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Rapid Repair Spray - I am looking forward to trying this hair product
Como Shambhala Invigorate Body Lotion - A good sized sample
As you can see even if they had just sent the Nars Illuminator the box would have been worth it.... The question remains as to whether the quality of these boxes can be maintained month in month out, however, as a first box this was pretty exciting stuff!
Once you sign up you can fill in a beauty profile so that Glossybox can tailor your box to your requirements, it would be interesting to see how this works and if you could exclude certain products being sent to you ...
I have to admit I like the concept as from a beauty fan's perspective you will get to try out products you may not have known about. The quantity of product sent does vary though so that may be something to be aware of. Glossybox say that they work in partnership with internationally renowned brands in the high-end bracket and emerging cosmetics companies, which means you could receive product from brands you have not heard of before..
