September GlossyBox - Maggie Li Illustrated - Rising Stars
September 2012's GlossyBox was exclusively designed by illustratator Maggie Li. Maggie chose a pastel blue box with a bold peach print, the cute print is made up of beauty products, bold prints are a huge fashion trend this year so it all pieces together nicely!
I must admit that the box colour to me looks more like a mint green with a light and darker pink...! Whilst the box is cute, I have no doubt that subscribers are far more interested in the contents of the box. The theme of this box is rising stars.
In my box
Personally I felt that this was quite a disappointing month for GlossyBox - no full size products and no make-up.
LADY GAGA Fame Fragrance 1.2ml sample vial -
I have had a spray of this, I was intrigued to know what this was like. This was a heavy scent, sweet but enough musk to balance it out. I liken this to the strong, heavy and grown up scents of the 1980's. This was nice but I wouldn't purchase it as it has potential to give me a headache.
RODIAL Glamoxy Snake Serum and 5 Minute Facial (2 sachets of each)
Each sachet contains 1ml of product. Rodial products are not cheap and this is a great way to try before you buy, so I am really excited that this was included in the box, I cannot wait to test these as the results of the snake serum are supposed to be instant.
BALANCE ME Wonder Eye Cream - 7ml
This tube is half the size of a full size version but as samples go this will give a good indication as to whether it works. Designed to soothe tired eyes, smooth away dark shadows and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Paraben free.
OLAY Regenerist Wrinkle Relaxing Complex - 7ml
Another anti-ageing product..is someone trying to tell me something :-) This is another 'instant' product to smooth fine lines and over time reduce wrinkles.
SEXY HAIR Spray and Play - 50ml
A hairspray that apparently give incredible volume, lift and shine and has an anti-humidity formula. I may just try this over the party season.
At the moment most of the products are going to remain in the box as I don't like to chop and change my skincare. I really feel that the size of the products and the lack of product mix was hugely disappointing. had there been larger sized products or even one full size product it would have redeemed the box as most of the products are actually quite interesting according to the claims that they make.
What did you think of your GlossyBox ?
