What's Inside My Makeup Bag - A Summer Look

I thought I would share with you a Summer Makeup Look that I have been wearing quite often in this hot sunny weather, all the products fit nicely into the Sew Lomax Sweet Cheeks Blusher Make Up Pouch which is just adorably cute!

The look I have gone for is fresh, flawless and Summery. It features peachy/orange shades and is perfect for everyday. Fast, taking just seconds to apply and simple, I am loving it.

Inside my makeup bag from left to right -

EcoTools Bamboo Blush Brush - Super soft and great for blending.
Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara in Black - I will do a separate review for this with before and after pics.
Sisley Phyto-Blush Eclat in Mango - read my review here http://www.beautyswot.com/2013/05/sisley-phyto-blush-eclat-in-mango.html
Ginvera Green Tea Nude Cover BB Cream - If you haven't read my rave review (where have you been!), you can read it here -http://www.beautyswot.com/2013/04/ginvera-green-tea-nude-cover-bb-cream.html

Benefit Hoola Bronzer - A great matte bronzing powder
Miners Tin o'Tint in Mango - A delicious lip tint in a natural looking orange/coral shade

Sisley Phyto-Blush Eclat in Mango

I love blusher it has to be said, when out shopping I am always pulled towards the blushers so when I attended an afternoon with Sisley to learn all about how to create the perfect red lip look, it was no surprise that my attention was drawn to the range of Phyto-Blushes.

Funky zebra outer packaging and a mirror the size of the length of the casing, two tones of blush and a handy brush included.. I fell in love.

Although it is available in 5 shades I chose to review the Phyto-Blush Eclat in Mango shade.

The Sisley Cosmetic brand prides itself on using natural plant extracts in their beauty products, the idea being that they have skincare benefits when used as well as being beautiful products.

Sisley say

Radiance revealed, in a single sweep. Its high-tech texture reveals and beautifies the complexion while leaving the skin soft and comfortable.

Ultra-fine, unctuous and silky, for a light, astonishing translucent and long lasting make-up result.

Multiple make-up effects thanks to the Phyto-Blush Eclat duos, which adapt to all skin tones and looks, from the most natural to the most sophisticated.

An original compact design: a feminine, elegant and modern accessory.

The soft focus effect minimizes surface imperfections and fine lines. The skin looks smoothed. The light powder finish can be modulated to the desired intensity.

Active Ingredients:

Woodmallow extract: moisturizes and softens
Linden extract: softens, soothes
Corn: nourishes, increases hydration
Gardenia extract: softens, moisturizes
Ginkgo biloba extract: boosts surface microcirculation, fights free radicals
Rosehip extract: tones

My thoughts

I am going to have to do a face of the day wearing the blush as I had a really hard time trying to capture the blush blended to do it justice. Above are the two shades separately, the creamy peach colour is just about visible on my skin.

Super soft and silky smooth powder texture with buildable colour. There are two shades - a lighter creamy colour (like the fleshy inside of a Mango) and a darker pinky/peachy colour (like the outer skin of a Mango)

This is a really beautiful and subtle peachy blush that when blended gives a pretty hint of colour but is so fine and natural in appearance that it just looks like you have a wonderful luminous and radiant glow. It looks great when paired with corals and peaches but equally is perfect teamed with red lipstick.

Gorgeous packaging, gorgeous blush. I highly recommend.

Sisley Instant Perfect and Global Perfect Pore Minimizer Review

In the second post of my week long skincare routine posts I share with you skincare from Sisley. I like to call these two products The Dream Team as used together they combat some issues that I have with my face - mainly fine lines, pores and the dreaded t-zone shine.. once I apply my foundation my skin is truly flawless.

I have been using both these products for over a month now.

Sisley Global Perfect Pore Minimizer

Sisley say

A pore-minimizing skin perfector.

Global Perfect is a powerful skin-enhancing concentrate with an all-around corrective, preventative and treatment action.

At any age, it tightens dilated pores, smoothes the skin's surface and ensures flawless skin texture day after day.

Active Ingredients:
Java tea extract: regulates sebum production
Lentil extract: combats parakeratosis responsible for deformed pores over time
Ratanhy extract: instant astringent action
Natural Alpha-bisabolol: soothes

Directions for Use:
Apply morning and/or evening to perfectly cleansed skin, alone or under your usual skincare. Non comedogenic.

Results:

Immediately, the skin texture is refined, the skin mattified. Pores are tightened.
Day after day, the skin surface is smoother and more even.
The skin’s balance is restored ,the freshness of the complexion is revealed.

My thoughts

A pleasant herbal scented light cream that is magnolia in colour. I find this to be excellent at disgusing pores and makes the skin appeal smoother and refined. I was applying this before my moisturiser but since changing my moisturiser and finding that it clashed with it and made the product roll, it works better when applied after.

A great skin prep product.

Left Instant Perfect and Right Pore Minimizer

Sisley Global Instant Perfect

A corrective and skin-enhancing product for an instant beauty boost.

Instant Perfect is a siliconated gel emulsion with an ultra-soft touch, which acts instantly to erase skin imperfections and highlight the eyes.
Its formula combines specific active ingredients for a targeted treatment and highly effective and yet imperceptible corrective foundation.

Peptidic soya extract stimulates collagen synthesis for a long term filling and smoothing effect on wrinkles,
Frangipani blossom extract minimises the appearance of dilated pores and improves skin texture,Vegetable Glycerine provides comfort.

Silicone polymers give the texture its “velvety effect”, improve make-up hold, fill in wrinkles and fine lines through an optical effect, and have shine-control properties,a soft-focus powder improves optical light diffusion on the skin surface for a unified complexion and soft-focus wrinkles and imperfections.

Directions for Use

Using light, smoothing strokes with the fingertips, apply locally to the T-zone, wrinkles, fine lines, and dark areas, after day cream and before make-up to optimise its hold.

Instant Perfect can also be used for quick and easy retouches during the day on areas that tend to shine or need brightening up.

Results:

Fine lines and wrinkles are instantly smoothed and filled in.
Shine, dilated pores, imperfections and dark areas are reduced.
The complexion is radiant and even, the eye area is rested.

My thoughts

This is a silicone based and velvety textured primer to be applied before foundation, once again this product does exactly what it promises - foundation glides on and lasts, fine lines are smoothed away and not a hint of shine all day.

As these are not just products for instant results but also 'treatment' products with continued use I am noticing an overall improvement in my pores and general condition of the skin with the result that I am actually needing less product to do the same job.

Sisley Eau Efficace Gentle Make-Up Remover - Review

Sisley says

Gentle, sensory, high-performance rinse free cleansing lotion. Press gently on the pump to soak the cotton pad with Eau Efficace. First remove eye make-up, followed by face make-up and repeat if necessary. Leaves the skin clean and matte and the complexion fresh and glowing. All skin types including delicate. Alcohol free. Colorant free.

Active Ingredients

Extracts of Shikakai, Desert Date Palm tress and Gypsophilia: deep cleansing botanical saponins. Linden water: soothes and softens the skin with a mild honey fragrance. Neroli extract: soothing and toning properties with sweet, floral notes. Natural Alpha-bisabolol: soothes. Pro-Vitamin B5: helps moisturize the skin

My thoughts

I am really beginning to come round to the simplicity of cleansing with a Micellar water and was looking forward to trying this one out from Sisley. Although it is going to be hard to get me away from my regular routine of hot cloth cleansing there are times that I just want to be able to use something that cleanse, tones and moisturises in one simple step particularly after nights out on the town - step forward Micellar Water.

A smart black and white bottle with a flip top lid that reveals an innovative pump action dispenser. Unusually you place your cotton pad on the top and press down, the clear product comes up into your pad. Lightly scented, this is an extremely effective eyes and face cleanser, that just like it claims to be is very gentle. I don't experience any stinging on my eyes so I really can cleanse and remove make up on my entire face.

This is a really lovely, lovely product with wonderful ingredients that feels as gentle as water but cleanses like a milk. Leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed, looking clean and bright and without leaving it feeling tight.

Perfect. The Rolls Royce of wipe off cleansers.

Gorgeous Lip Liners from Sisley Cosmetics

I was sent three lip liners from Sisley to try out recently. These are luxuriously packaged and luxurious to use.

Sisley Phyto-Lèvres Perfect in Rose Thé
Sisley Phyto-Lèvres Perfect in Nude
Sisley Phyto-Lèvres Gloss in 01 Thé Glacé

The blurb on the back of the packs - Lip Liner on the left, Sheer Lip Liner on the right.

Sisley Phyto-Lèvres Perfect in Rose Thé

I purchased a rather strong, bright lipstick from Estee Lauder (Bitten Fig) and the first time I wore it I had the most dreadful feathering which was really quite embarrassing. Bitten Fig made the perfect shade of lipstick to test the effectiveness of the Lip Liner. I wore Rose Thé as it is the darker of the two pencil liners and it did a brilliant job of keeping the lipstick in place, no feathering at all.

Each pencil comes with a brush on one end and a sharpener.

Rose Thé is a pinky brown shade that I find perfect to wear under my stronger coloured lipsticks. This feels lovely and soft to apply to the lip, gliding on easily and yet the pencil is still firm. Apparently it is packed with oils and waxes so that it is comfortable to wear and non drying.

Sisley Phyto-Lèvres Perfect in Nude

Nude is THE perfect nude base for lipsticks, I love this shade. It has all the same benefits as mentioned above.
Active ingredients are Aloe Vera, Jojoba and Kokum

Sisley Phyto-Lèvres Perfect Lip Liners are available in 6 shades.

Sisley Phyto-Lèvres Gloss in 01 Thé Glacé

Love, love, love this gloss liner. I wasn't sure at first why I would need a glossy lip liner. I mostly wear it alone as a quick lightly glossed lip as I find that it enhances my lips, creating the illusion of plumped up lips (without the tingle). I mainly use it this way however you can also use it under a gloss to give it extra staying power.

This is pretty, sheer light brown tone and it is so buttery soft to apply.

Sisley Phyto-Lèvres Gloss is available in 4 shades.

Swatches of Sisley Phyto-Lèvres Perfect and Gloss

From top to bottom - Rose Thé, Nude and Thé Glacé
