COWSHED Cow Slip and Cow Pat Hand Creams Reviewed

I seem to have done a complete about turn - going from never using hand creams to ensuring having one in the kitchen, one in my bedroom and one in my handbag.. so when I saw that I could get a rather bargainous 12 months subscription for Easy Living Magazine complete with a gift of 2 free hand creams I naturally signed on the dotted line...

Cowshed is a brand that I have never tried before although I had heard of it..I must confess the names of the products didn't really appeal to me but it would seem that I have been missing out.

A little bit about the brand (from their website)

Cowshed has evolved into a holistic range of products and treatments, all bound together through their continued use of natural botanicals from sustainable resources containing the highest quality essential oils. On top of which they guarantee;

No Parabens (preservatives)
No Petrochemicals (petroleum bi-products)
No Sulphates (artificial foaming agents)
No Animal Ingredients (spare a little organic beeswax and wildflower honey)
No Artificial Fragrances or Colours
No Animal Testing (not now, not ever)

We continue to make all of our products in England, ensuring local sustainability and optimal 'just picked' freshness.

Cow Pat Moisturising Hand Cream (50ml) £8

They say

Delicately scented with grapefruit and coriander, this hand cream sinks in quickly, leaving skin well nourished.

My thoughts

Scent wise this is is fresh and herby, I wasn't sure I was going to like it from the description and it is so far removed from the usual hand cream scents but it is strangely addictive. This is a light cream that I would use for general moisturisation as it leaves hands soft but I don't feel the results last... if my hands were really dry I wouldn't be reaching for this.

Cow Slip Soothing Hand Cream (50ml) £8

They say

Maintain youthful hands at any moment of the day with a mini tube of our award winning hand cream!
This luxurious hand cream uses spearmint oil for its healing and antibacterial properties as well as petitgrain, peppermint and sweet orange to maintain moisture and restore supple skin for younger looking hands.

My thoughts

Another curious ingredient concoction that actually smells so very nice, this cream feels light but once applied you can really see the difference in the condition of the skin. My skin looks super smooth and well moisturised but it is not greasy at all.

Out of the two I prefer the Soothing Hand Cream for the results it gives.

Have you tried this brand?

Perfume Sample Saturday - Ghost Whisper Eau De Toilette

I loved the original Ghost Ghost EDT - I had a couple of bottles just after its release back in 1999/2000 - the mix of jasmine with rose petals blended with vanilla, sandalwood, hibiscus with a hint of musk was really quite gorgeous...in fact reminiscing I feel I must visit a perfume counter and revisit this scent!

Looking into my box of perfume samples I came across Ghost Whisper EDT, strangely I must have missed the release of this as I don't remember it at all, curious I decided that this was the next perfume fragrance to come out of the box.

Ghost Whisper

Is described as a floral fruity scent

Top notes - Mandarin, Almond and Star Fruit
Heart notes - Jasmine, Honeysuckle and Orange Blossom
Base notes - White Cedarwood, Creamy Musks, Heliotrope

My thoughts

This is really quite nice. Not overly fruity, slightly sweet and most definitely feminine. This is an attractive scent that is rather comforting in a familiar way. I feel like I have had something similar in the past but cannot quite place it.

A great blend of ingredients, pleasant for Spring.

Ghost Whisper EDT 30ml costs £25

A Year and A Day - The Friday Column

A Poem - A Year and A Day

It's been a year and a day since you walked away
And not one phone call or text to say you are ok
I guess if I am honest I am not surprised
It was all there, I saw it in your eyes

Don't get me wrong I am not sat here pining
Although of course at first there was whining
I just miss the things that were familiar
We were like one, really quite similar

We sat and drank wine till the sun rose
We laughed and made plans I thought you'd propose
Then all of sudden you would come home late
Said you were working, making me wait

Passing by your office one day I saw you leave
Witnessing something that made me heave
I shrieked and sobbed, I felt funny
I saw her in your arms, a swell in her tummy

Yes it's been a year and a day since you walked away
I know, I know I begged you that day to stay
Would you believe I am honestly relieved
Free to find someone who respects and adores me.
