Pantene Pro V In Charity Partnership With Cancer Hair Care

Leading UK hair brand, Pantene Pro-V, is partnering up with Cancer Hair Care, a UK charity dedicated to helping women living with hair loss through cancer treatment.  In addition to an initial charity donation, Pantene Pro-V is creating a limited edition pack across its Classic Care range to raise much needed funds.

Cancer Hair Care is dedicated to promoting and protecting the physical and mental health of women experiencing hair loss through cancer treatments. It provides support, education and practical advice for women, while also working to educating the public in all areas related to hair loss associated with cancer treatment. In addition, the charity works to provide education and training programs for hair professionals and healthcare workers.

I was staggered to learn that over 100,000+  women in the UK deal with hair loss issues following cancer treatment each year and with most people having been touched with cancer in some way, being directly or indirectly through having family or friends with it, I believe that this is a worthwhile service to support or bring awareness about to those who need it.

The Pantene Pro-V Classic Care range will feature the Cancer Hair Care logoClassic Care Shampoo, RRP £2.69, Classic Care Conditioner, RRP £2.69 available nationwide from August 2012. 5p from every sale will be donated to Cancer Hair Care.

Benefit They're Real! Mascara Anniversary Set - Review

It is hard to believe that Benefit They're Real! Mascara is just a year old, such is its status and popularity in the beauty world (UK's no1 best selling mascara!) that it feels like it has been around for years. To celebrate the one year anniversary Benefit have released a limited edition set which features the full size mascara (8g) and a bonus deluxe mini size mascara (4g) for the same price as the usual mascara. The mini will come in very handy for travel!

Benefit say

they're real! lengthens, curls, volumises, lifts & separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!

My thoughts

Wow, just wow! This mascara is fantastic, 2 coats and I look like I have sexy, flutterworthy lashes that are so long they look false and can be seen from afar... I found the mascara to completely live up to the hype, it didn't clump, smudge or flake. Impressive.

The mascara is neither too wet or dry, just perfect and a nice, deep black shade.

Thanks to the design of the brush you can really coat each and every lash if you want to, I just prefer not to get too close to my inner eyes..

Of course a mascara review is nothing without before and after pics! What do you think?

Benefit They're Real! Mascara Anniversary Set costs £18.50 and is available nationwide from the 18th August.

YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation Review

YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation had to be the most anticipated launch of 2012. All the magic and benefits of the iconic Touch Éclat Highlighter popped into a foundation. Of course I had to try it!

What YSL say

The light of Touche Éclat foundation targets shadowy areas and highlights the contours of the face. With no opaque powders, its perfecting texture evens the complexion and helps conceal your imperfections, while enhancing your skin’s natural beauty.

Promising to be an illuminating foundation with dimensional radiance all in a weightless foundation - a tall order?

My thoughts

I was sent Shade BD20 which is perfect for my light-medium yellow toned skin

I am not going to beat about the bush here, this is my Summer foundation. I must admit to being a little concerned that this was a light to medium coverage foundation but as it is buildable I find that it is fine and doesn't look too heavy when I apply more to any areas I may need it.

It covers my redness, it covers my pores well and the odd hormonal spot. I haven't actually had to use a separate concealer yet.. it provides beautiful, even coverage and leaves the skin looking radiant and bright with absolutely no cakiness.

I have worn Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation with and without a primer and find that it looks equally good both ways, if anything I prefer it without! Duration wise I get between 6-7 hours before I get a shiny t-zone but this is fine for most activities.

BD20

BD20 blended

I really like the gel textured formula, the foundation blends so well that it is seamless and literally melts into the skin to leave a very natural finish. I have to mention the comment that my mother in law made.. she saw me wearing just this foundation and told me that I had such good skin. Now doesn't that make this bottle worth investing in?

If you want to see me wearing the foundation, you can click on this link - FOTD post

Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation comes in 22 shades with 3 different tone groups and costs £28 for 30mls.

Neal's Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Campagin

Neal’s Yard Remedies are campaigning to stop the use of deadly neonic pesticides which are killing bees all over the world, and are responsible for the loss of 80% of beehives in the UK.

To enable this to happen they need 100,000 UK signatures on their Bee Lovely petition.

Can you help to get more signature by the end of November so they can present it to parliament and request the British government join France, Germany, Italy and Slovenia in banning these powerful pesticides, and help protect our precious bees?

How you can help

The petition is live on the NYR website - Bee Lovely Petition and is accessible through the NYR Facebook Page too - just click the ‘Bee Lovely’ tab near the top of the page.

I have signed it, will you?

Boss Orange Perfume Review

Boss Orange EDT has to be my favourite female scent from the Boss collection.

It is described as a floral-fruity scent but I don't personally find it overly fruity which is perfect as I am not too keen on overtly fruity fragrances.

It features top notes of Sweet Apples, heart notes of White Flower Notes and Orange Blossom and base notes of Sandalwood, Olive Wood and Vanilla.

Well no surprises there ..containing some of the notes that really appeal to me mainly orange blossom, vanilla this was bound to be a hit. I have to be honest and say to my untrained scentometer I struggle to identify the sweet apples, not a problem though as I adore the orange blossom mixed with vanilla that I do detect.

It is gorgeous, but I do find it a little overpowering and heavy, if I spray too much I find that I can get a headache and not sure if I am imagining this.. heart palpitations!

It reminds me a lot of the perfume Ghost EDT which was a favourite of mine in my early 20's - Top notes of Ambrette seeds, Rose, heart notes of Jasmine, Hibiscus, Apricot and base notes of Incense, Sandalwood,  Vanilla, Musk and Amber.

Boss Orange has the all important husband approval with him declaring ' you smell good'! As I find this too much for daytime, I save this scent to wear for evenings out.

Boss Orange EDT 75ml costs £48.50 from The Perfume Shop
